History[edit]

The Seventh was created in the aftermath of the Second Combine-Dominion War when the ISF undertook a purge of DCMS units tainted by the Black Dragon Society's influence. Two New Samarkand Regulars regiments suffered so severely from these purges that only a single veteran battalion of loyalists remained in each. The two battalions were merged to form a new regiment, the Seventh, whose members swore an oath of unbreakable loyalty to House Kurita.

The Seventh saw action almost immediately after its founding, when it participated in an offensive which netted Tancredi IV, Lyceum and other Federated Suns worlds while that nation was embroiled in the Victoria War. Following this, the Seventh fought Sandoval-backed mercenaries in the Draconis Reach and then repelled several Raven Alliance raids into Kaznejoy Prefecture. After this the Seventh largely spent the next two decades garrisoning Valentina, only seeing combat against pirates.

In 3144 the Seventh once again saw significant combat, serving in the pivotal battle at Palmyra, after which the unit's commander Tai-sa Henrietta Margolis received the Bushido Blade. The regiment then took part in the conquest of Tsamma and was subsequently withdrawn to Kesai IV for rest and refit.[1][2]
