Aremas Heuaventas was the chief test pilot at a Corean Enterprises research facility on New Avalon during the thirty-first century.[1]

History[edit]

He had been the only MechWarrior on Corean Enterprises' payroll since about 3020 and was the only known Federated Suns MechWarrior to pilot every single Centurion variant.[2]

He was assigned to the NAIS during the Death Commandos raid in 3029, being the third 'Mech out on the field, behind the Fox and Reno (from Team Banzai). He took down a Capellan Confederation Banshee with his Centurion and from the way he explained the battle, people would think he single-handedly saved Hanse's life that night.[3]

He fought in the War of 3039, leading a strike party out on Breed. His work with the NAIS got him filling in across the AFFC as a backup pilot here, there, and elsewhere, always testing Centurions.[3]

At some unknown time he discussed with his son, who'd joined ComStar, though he stayed in touch after the split only to discover ten years later him on the news on Epsilon Eridani, meaning he had joined the Word of Blake.[4]

His knowledge on Centurion BattleMechs led to his selection for Project Legionnaire as it was about a new 'Mech that was supposed to be souped-up Centurion, Centurion II, but with budget tightening it ended up scrapped; but the frame built, so rather than waste it, Corean Enterprise went for a quick and dirty 'Mech that would be easy to manufacture and replenish AFFC forces after the hellish losses from the FedCom Civil War.[3]

Late April 3071, on top of the stress and exhaustion caused by the finishing touches that were needed to complete the Legionnaire and the expected visit of Marshal of the Armies Jackson Davion to review it, he took to drinking because of the knowledge that his son was on the opposite side.[5]

In 3071 he was listed as MIA on New Avalon by WolfNet.[2]

December 3072 was a tough one for him. Stress was affecting him and on the 17th of December he disappeared with one of the prototypes for around thirty minutes, sabotaging the locator. All the base was on alert and was going to search for him when we reappeared. When Robert Doucette confronted him, he confirmed that he had gone to visit his old homestead.[6]

On January 3073, he returned to active status, which mean he could be mustered to combat with one of the prototype Legionnaires.[7]
