The BattleTech Salvage Box: UrbanMech is a plastic miniature for use in the classic BattleTech tabletop and Alpha Strike games. The box also provides one dry-erase card, which are intended to directly support Alpha Strike gameplay, and one new Pilot Card.
The BattleTech Salvage Box: UrbanMech was created as a part of the 2019 Clan Invasion Crowdfunding Campaign. With the campaign proving far more popular than Catalyst Game Labs had ever anticipated, the company asked fans what additional products they wanted for stretch goals with a notable number of respondents suggesting products based around the quirky UrbanMech which had achieved memetic mascot status in direct comparison to its performance in tabletop. Attached to the US$2,000,000 "No Guts, No Galaxy" stretch goal, this was achieved and Catalyst produced the UrbanMech salvage box alongside the UrbanMech Plushie.
The UrbanMech Salvage Box was available via two routes. Those who backed the Clan Invasion crowdfunding campaign at the US$20 Warrior tier (or the US$1 ComStar Monitoring Station tier and purchased US$20 in physical add-ons) received one free UrbanMech box while all backers had the option to purchase additional boxes as a US$7 add-on. A limited number of of UrbanMech Salvage boxes were also available via retail stores with the Merchant Caste tier aka retail store backers receiving six UrbanMech Boxes to resell and with Catalyst Game Labs selling remaining stock at conventions and via their online store.
