Battle Computer (Component)

The Battle Computer is a computer system located in the cockpit of every BattleMech. The battle computer is responsible for interpreting data received from the 'Mech's Targeting-Tracking System and Diagnostic Interpretation Computer, turning it into useful information which the MechWarrior can understand, and coordinating the overall movement and fire of the 'Mech in combat. When a pilot aims her reticle at a target and gives the command for a weapon to fire, it is the battle computer which carries out this order. The battle computer can also act as backup for the DI computer, though at a much-reduced efficiency.[1]

From BattleTech (Video Game):

  • Tacticon B-2000 is featured in the 2018 BattleTech video game as a component of the Cyclops assault Mech which cannot be removed or put on other Mechs. Since the mechanics of the game do not allow to take advantage of its canon function (while mentioning it), being centered around managing a single lance, it instead improves Initiative, allowing the Mech and its allied force to act earlier in combat through "exceptional lance cohesion".

From MechWarrior Online:

  • The Tacticon B-2000 is included in MechWarrior Online as a sensor system unique to the Cyclops that provides a 100m boost in sensor range of the Cyclops itself and any friendly 'Mechs within 200m radius of a Cyclops. [1]
