History[edit]

An Achilles-class DropShip, the Bisan was in service with the Draconis Combine during the Clan Invasion era as the DCS Bisan. It was assigned along two Avenger-class DropShips, the DCS Hainan and the DCS Dojo, to the Kyushu-class frigate DCS Haruna as a part of the Combine contribution to the Second Star League Task Force SERPENT.[1]

Battle of Trafalgar[edit]

On 15 December 3059[2] Task Force SERPENT encountered a convoy from Clan Ghost Bear in the Deep Periphery and fought them in an engagement later called the Battle of Trafalgar. During the battle, Haruna was ordered to board and capture the Invader-class JumpShip CGB Winter Wind.[3]

After breaking through the defending WarShips, Haruna pulled to within 85 km of the Winter Wind, launched Bisan toward the Ghost Bear JumpShip, then turned to reengage an enemy WarShip. Star Captain Hector, commanding the Winter Wind, launched two Union-C-class DropShips to defend—the CGB Arctic Frost and CGB Blue Kodiak. A third DropShip, the Broadsword-class CGB Ice Dart was unable to launch due to a damaged docking collar.[3][4]

Though outnumbered, Bisan outmaneuvered the two Clan DropShips, performing a sharp pirouette to savage the first Union-C and launching its fighters to harry the second. Making a fast pass along the Winter Wind at a velocity of over 600kph, Bisan launched its two NL-42 combat shuttles and successfully delivered them to target while withstanding a barrage from the Winter Wind's PPCs.[5]. The DEST boarding parties, equipped with Kage suits, boarded the ship, defeated the security force of Elementals and armed crew members, and seized control of the ship. After accepting Star Captain Hector's surrender, DEST team commander Major Michael Ryan recalled the Bisan to retrieve the wounded.[6]
