History[edit]
The roots of Carson's Renegades are lost in history, but the Renegades served the Free Worlds League during parts of the 30th and thirty-first century.
The Renegades were deployed during an invasion of the Lyran Commonwealth in 2950. Dubbed "Operation KILLING STROKE", the invasion was curtailed before full deployment, leading to great losses for those commands already in Lyran space and only moderate success by 2953.[1]
During Operation GUERRERO the unit defended the rebellious Zion Province and suffered heavy losses.
The unit reappeared in the Inner Sphere in employ for the Word of Blake. Their mission was to stabilize Caph as garrison force. The planet came later to the protectorate. The mercenaries are accused for over 13,000 civil casualties since their deployment to this planet.
By 3067 the unit's motto was: "The PPC is mightier than the Pen".
They were sent to reinforce Algot sometime during or after 3073, where they joined the already on-planet Hannigan's Monsters and at an unknown date after 3071 by Khasparov's Knights.[2]
On 14 February 3077 Warrior House Imarra met the bulk of the Blakist mercenary garrison in the desert outside Cassol while Ambermarle's Highlanders and Devon's Armored Infantry flanked the mercenaries and overran the former AFFS compound the mercenaries were using as their base of operations.[2]
Carson's Renegades were confirmed to have been wiped out during the Jihad.[3]
