History[edit]

The Chesterton Guardians were created in the late twenty-fifth century at the order of Chancellor Hendrik Liao. Specialists in unconventional warfare, the Guardians spent nearly a century engaged in running black operations in former Chesterton systems that were occupied by the Federated Suns. They ran guns to rebels, extracted Capellan sympathizers, and assaulted AFFS military depots. In 2563 they raided a Davion-controlled prison and rescued several members of the Hargreaves family. This operation gave them their nickname "the Scarlet Pimpernels." During the fighting between the Federated Suns and the Capellan Confederation over Demeter, the Guardians jumped the border and raided several AFFS supply depots. These raids prevented the AFFS from engaging in a major action.

They were located on Conwy in 2765.[1]
