The Cohagen system was home to at least one habitable world and as of 3145 was an independent Periphery system located close to the Pirates Haven stellar cluster and the border of the June Operational Area of the Periphery March region of the Federated Suns.[1][2]

System Description[edit]

The Cohagen system is located near the Traussin and Verdigreis systems.[1][2]

System History[edit]

The Cohagen system was colonized during or shortly before the Age of War and by the end of the era had been incorporated into the Taurian Concordat.[3][4][5]

Planetary History[edit]

The largest industry on Cohagen during the Star League era was salt mining. The huge salt plains that cover the world were so large that they were recognizable from space. The salt plains were also incredibly flat leaving vast swaths of unbroken terrain covering the planet. The status of this industry is unknown in later eras.[39]

Between 3031 and 3051 alone, over 300 sorties were flown by the Red Skull Legion pirate band against the Eckeners of the Esso-Xenon PetroChem Corporation airships. The band was located somewhere on Cohegan, because of the usage of conventional fighters. Though the planetary government hired several mercenary outfits to protect their Eckener convoys and root out the Red Skull Legion, they were never successful. This changed after 3057 when the recently hired mercenary unit Blake Security Aviation set out to trap the Legion with the explosives-laden Pacifica. When the majority of the Legion had drawn close, the Pacifica detonated, taking eight MechBuster fighters to the ground with it. The Red Skulls never mounted another organized raid again.[40][41]
