History[edit]

Dark Age[edit]

The Commonwealth Jaegers were reorganized from the Lyran Reserves brigade at the start of the Dark Age. Two of that brigade's cornerstones, the Tamar and Pandora Cavaliers, had been destroyed while fighting along the Falcon border. In 3133, the 1st Skye Jaegers were disbanded amid a probe into their political leanings. By 3135, the brigade had been redesignated as the Commonwealth Jaegers and reorganized into a force that emphasized the speed and flexibility of lighter units. Though the brigade was without Jaeger units for Donegal or Coventry, it did get a boost in 3143. Following the ascent of Trillian Steiner to the Archonship, the 1st Steiner Strikers were expanded to a full regiment and added to the brigade.[1]

Task Force Kingbreaker[edit]

Both the Buena and Bolan Jaegers sent a battalion to join the 8th Lyran Regulars in their attack on the planet Ayacucho, homeworld of rogue Margrave Diego Widmer. After routing the Buena Collective troops and the mercenary battalion they found waiting for them, they moved on to Buena, their main target. Both Jaeger units were heavily involved in the fighting for the planet, with the Buena Jaegers being part of the team that seized the capitol and arrested Widmer.[2]
