History[edit]

Academy[edit]

In 2721 Luvon was a Star League Defense Force cadet and student at the Nagelring and Tharkad University. Luvon and a number of his fellow students were responsible for bullying and abusing Aleksandr Kerensky while Kerensky was a fellow student at Tharkad University; Aleksandr was injured so frequently at the hands of Luvon and his associates that the medical system acquired detailed enough scans of Aleksandr's brain for him to flagged up as an ideal candidate for MechWarrior training. Not academically talented, Luvon's resentment towards Kerensky was commonly couched in nationalistic terms, with Luvon frequently accusing Kerensky of believing himself to be better than Lyrans because of his being born on Terra.[1]

After Colonel Baumgarten of the Eleventh Royal BattleMech Division and acting Commanding Officer of the Nagelring academy offered Kerensky a place at the prestigious military academy, Luvon's harassment escalated. Luvon attempted to have Kerensky thrown out of Tharkad University by attempting to frame him for cheating during exams; when Gabriella Bailey, a fellow university student, turned down Luvon's request to be his date for a spring formal event and instead asks Aleksandr to be her date, Luvon enlisted the help of several fellow cadets in another attack on Aleksandr outside the event. After assaulting Aleksandr, Luvon announced his intention to spread rumors that Aleksandr sexually assaulted Gabriella. Enraged, Aleksandr lashed out at Luvon, causing Luvon to fall, and in the process, impale himself on one half of his own broken saber.[1]

Luvon survived his injury, but the testimony of one of those who had assisted him in the attack, Patrick Ward, reinforced Aleksandr and Gabriella's version of events, and led to Luvon being expelled from the Nagelring. Aleksandr's horror at losing control and inflicting harm on Luvon leads to him deciding to accept the invitation to join the Nagelring.[1]
