Character Profile

Profession Colonel

History[edit]

Felix Blucher had been a staff officer in the Skye Province command when the air car accident that left Colonel Suzanne Wright, commanding officer of the 15th Arcturan Guards, badly injured her. He was given command of the 15th Arcturan Guards in 3062 and kept it until 3067.[1][2]

Blucher was an honorable and professional soldier and a good combat officer. He was a staunch supporter of the Lyran Alliance, and his respect for formality and the chain of command both above and below him left him open to manipulation during the Civil War.[1][2]

With increasing tensions on Solaris and their success in the Sarna March, the 15th was ordered to garrison several worlds with anti-Alliance rebels, with the first battalion under CO Felix Blucher posted to Thorin. While Blucher worked alongside the Thorin Militia at first, increasing anti-Katherine riots escalated into terrorist attacks and the Arcturan Guards personnel killing the activist reporter sister of the militia's CO Archer Christifori. An enraged Christifori led a rebellion against the 15th and with the aid of militia turncoats within the Arcturan Guards and inspired tactics, Christifori was about to deal the 15th several crushing defeats. After heading off reinforcements from Muphrid, the battered 15th surrendered and traveled towards Lyons to rebuild still under Blucher's command.[3][4]

During the Clan Jade Falcon Incursion of 3064, a mixed force led by Colonel Felix Blucher of the Fifteenth Arcturan Guards landed on Melissia. This "hodge podge" unit, acting without orders, had been formed from the remnants of the Guards and from elements of various Melissia Theater militia units. Though Sharon Bryan was enraged that Blucher had called up so many of the troops under her command, at Adam Steiner's insistence, she did not have Blucher arrested. The ad hoc reinforced regiment became the sole Lyran reserves for the battle.[5][6]
