History[edit]

The only surviving member of a previous (unnamed) mercenary outfit together with his private tech Sagiri Johnson (who was with him since 3054), Garber Vost set up a new mercenary unit known as the Vost Lance in 3056. As the pompous leader of the Vost Lance he did not use any military rank, probably on grounds of being the accepted leader in the small group of five MechWarriors and their techs.

Described as a "walking libido", Vost tended to look down on women yet had special attention from all three female techs in his unit. He would not normally have considered hiring a female MechWarrior for his outfit, but when contract stipulations required the Vost Lance to hire another MechWarrior just before they shipped out from Salford for a mission alongside DEST Team 6654, he hired Locust pilot Holly Goodall for lack of an alternative.

On 7 November 3056 the JumpShip Telendine jumped out of the Salford system carrying a Leopard DropShip with the Vost Lance aboard. They vanished and never arrived at their destination, and were considered destroyed in a misjump. (In truth, the misjump had brought the vessels to Kaetetôã with no chance to return to or communicate with known space.)

Vost owned a PNT-9R Panther, but he was also a qualified LAM pilot, and switched 'Mechs with fellow MechWarrior Brian Seagroves on Kaetetôã where the LAM ran out of fuel and crashed, implicitly killing Garber Vost.
