The Grausian Bloodsucker is a predatory insect found on the world of Graus within the Lyran Commonwealth.[1]

Description[edit]

The Grausian Bloodsucker is distantly related to the Crana, but shares many of the same characteristics. However, it is smaller than its more terrifying ancestor and relies more on its speed to ambush its prey. It has adapted to living on the fringes on society and hunts smaller prey, like the Grausian Scruffer. The Grausian bloodsuckers typically travel in groups of 3 to 18 and can often seem dead when first encountered. However, when a warm blooded creature nears, they awaken. Once its prey has been detected, the bloodsuckers immobilizes its prey with a powerful toxin and then drains its victim of its blood.

Sometimes the bloodsucker deposits its eggs in its victim while feeding, but instances of laying eggs in a still living creature are rare. They tend to avoid humans, but locals can tell harrowing tales of encounters.[1]
