Description[edit]

The Gun Trailer is a very simple concept: Take a trailer chassis, add some armor for protection, a lot of weapons, and a small engine to power the weapons and other equipment. Then position the trailer around an objective or haul it as part of a convoy. The trailer can carry many types of weapons and therefore fills many roles. Even better they're cheap to produce so they're easy to provide to militias in large numbers. Gun Trailers can use the variety of weapons they contain to fulfill several roles on the battlefield. Versions have been seen that act as anti-infantry units, ambush units, and artillery or anti-aircraft support. Given that they are trailers hauled behind ground units, they typically carry most of their armor on their rear sides, where the weapons are mounted.

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

Gun Trailers don't require control systems and their engines just exist to provide power for their weapons. This results in a lot of free space and weight, so Gun Trailers can be armed with nearly any weapon. The most popular armament types are listed below.

Variants[edit]

  • Ambush
This ten-ton tracked chassis carries six Rocket Launcher 15s in a rear-facing mount. Protection is provided by a ton and a half of armor, most of it on the rear. BV (2.0) = 137[4][5]
  • Stronghold
The Stronghold variant is a twenty ton tracked chassis protected by four tons of standard armor. To protect the rear it carries a single Machine Gun with half ton of ammunition and a pair of Vehicular Grenade Launchers. It also carries a light autocannon/5 in a turret. The LAC/5 has two tons of ammunition. The Stronghold also has a four ton Infantry Compartment, which allows the Stronghold to act as a mobile checkpoint as well as an infantry support vehicle. BV (2.0) = 224[8][9]
  • Missile Artillery/Anti-Aircraft
This wheeled thirty-five ton chassis mounts an Arrow IV in a turret. Equipped with six tons of ammunition storage, this Gun Trailer can provide both artillery fire support and conduct anti-aircraft operations. For protection it mounts six tons of Hardened Armor. Half the armor is split evenly across the turret and rear side of the Trailer, while the remaining half of the armor is spread evenly over the front, left, and right sides of the trailer. BV (2.0) = 452[10][11]
  • LRM
Built on the same thirty-five ton wheeled chassis as the Missile Artillery Gun Trailer, this unit mounts three LRM-10 missile launchers in the turret. It retains the six-ton magazine, providing seventy-two salvos to support friendly units. The armor distribution remains the same as the Arrow carrier. BV (2.0) = 407[12][13]
  • Sniper Cannon
This Gun Trailer is built on the same chassis as the Anti-Aircraft model. It carries a turret-mounted Sniper Artillery Cannon with six tons of ammunition. BV (2.0) = 299[14][15]
  • Thumper
This trailer carries a Thumper Artillery Piece and six tons of ammunition. Aside from the different armament, it is identical to the Arrow carrying trailer. BV (2.0) = 265[16][17]
  • Siege
This version of the trailer is based on the Arrow carrier. It mounts a trio of Mech Mortar/2s in the turret. BV (2.0) = 256[18][19]
  • Thunderbolt
Another thirty-five ton wheeled chassis, this variant mounts a single Thunderbolt 20 in the turret and carries six tons of ammunition. BV (2.0) = 513[20][21]
  • Ultra AC
The final thirty-five ton wheeled chassis, this version carries a single Ultra AC/20 in the turret. Like the other variants built on the same chassis, it also carries six tons of ammunition and six tons of Hardened Armor. BV (2.0) = 491[22][23]
