The Head of a Pin - sometimes also referred to as the Pinhead[1] - was a Fortress-class DropShip operated by the mercenary unit Avanti's Angels, and was in service with the Angels at least as early as 3059. The Head of a Pin was noted as being an ancient DropShip, and one that was showing its age; the Angels used their second DropShip, a Union-class vessel named the Heaven Sent, as their primary transport and endeavored to keep the Head of a Pin out of harm's way.[2]
The Head of a Pin was still in service with the Angels in 3067, and was being used primarily as a mobile maintenance depot; it was said that the Head of a Pin was held together by lots of patches and the power of positive thinking.[1] It was subsequently reported that the Head of a Pin had been lost during a daring campaign on New Home in 3068, but by 3069 it still hadn't been confirmed if the Head of a Pin had been destroyed by battle damage or was instead missing during to an intentional relocation on the part of the Angels.[3]
