Profile
ProfessionChief oyabun of the Luthien yakuza.

Hiroo Yamaguchi was oyabun of the Luthien yakuza, and a staunch supporter of Coordinator Theodore Kurita.

History[edit]

A relatively junior oyabun during Theodore Kurita's rise to power in the 3030s, Yamaguchi wholeheartedly backed his reforms and eventually rose to become the leading yakuza member on Luthien. "The Old Cat", as he dubbed by the yakuza, also became something of a close friend to the Coordinator, and used his power to support Theodore's rule.[1]

This relationship ensured that when the Black Dragon Society were plotting their assassination attempt against the Coordinator in 3058, one of their first steps was eliminating Yamaguchi. Benjamin Inagawa served as their ally, pressuring Yamaguchi's gang until open warfare erupted between the two men's followers. Unable to intervene as no treason or outside concerns were threatened, Theodore Kurita reluctantly ordered the Otomo to merely ensure the fighting didn't spread.[1] [2] [3]

In the battle Yamaguchi almost prevailed until he was taken down by superior numbers. Confronted by Inagawa, Yamaguchi offered his surrender in exchange for his followers' release. Inagawa agreed, killed "The Old Cat" and then shot down the remaining prisoners.[1] [2]
