Familiar History[edit]

The Carlyles began as a military family, serving the LCAF, directly or indirectly, as mercenaryes. Carlyle's Commandos was their first mercenary unit, which was suceeded by the legendary Gray Death Legion. Under Grayson Carlyle, they became a noble family, with the title of Counts. After the Word of Blake Jihad, two generations of Carlyles abandoned the military career, focusing on serving as leaders of Odessa. However, the third generation, composed by the brothers Isobel and Ronan Carlyle, joined the LCAF, and after being expulsed from it, refounded the Gray Death Legion.[3][4]

Family Heirlooms and Holdings[edit]

The family where granted the landhold of Helmfast on Helm in 3026 as part of the deal to secure the services of the Gray Death Legion, though they lost it soon after.[5]

On 1 April, 3056 House Carlyle was given the Barony of Glengarry in perpetuity. This was later revoked for their support of Katherine Steiner-Davion during the FedCom Civil War. After the Word of Blake Jihad, they were given the title of Counts of Odessa, which they retained at the dawn of the IlClan Era.[6][7]

They also owned assets and minor companies across the Commonwealth, going as far as Garrison.[8]
