Major Kent Fairfax was a MechWarrior and officer, serving in the 50th Heavy Cavalry Battalion, 151st Light Horse Regiment of the Eridani Light Horse, during the thirty-first century.[1][2]

History[edit]

Early Career[edit]

As of 3025, the then MechWarrior Fairfax was a member of the Command Lance, 3rd Heavy Assault Company of the 50th Heavy Cavalry Battalion, at which time he went by "Kent Fairfax Jr.".

Task Force Serpent[edit]

By 3058, when the Eridani Light Horse joined Task Force Serpent for their operation to attack Clan Smoke Jaguar in the Clan Homeworlds, Fairfax had risen to become a Major and the commanding officer of the 50th Heavy Cavalry Battalion. He was very concerned with the duty of the 50th Heavy Cavalry Battalion in particular to protect the Light Horse's dependents, and for this reason objected to Ariana Winston when she ordered the battalion to join Task Force Serpent's mission against its far away objective.[2]

Despite these objections, he did however join Task Force Serpent in its attack on Huntress. In March 3060, he took responsibility with his infantry units for the protection of civilians in the city of Lootera after it was seized, extending the 50th Heavy Cavalry Battalion's traditional concern for the safety of noncombatants to include Clan lower-caste members.[3]

Capellan-St. Ives War[edit]

Fairfax survived the battles in the Clan Homeworlds, and was able to return home to the Inner Sphere, with the remains of Task Force Serpent. In 3062, he was deployed with his unit to Milos in the Capellan Confederation, as part of their role as "peacekeepers" sent to assist the St. Ives Compact in the Capellan-St. Ives War. He again was a promoter of the rights of local civilians, against harm which may be caused to them by the occupying Light Horse forces.[4]

BattleMech[edit]

Fairfax was known to pilot a Goliath BattleMech.[1]
