The Little Sorrell was a 'Mech-transporting DropShip of unknown type either in service with Archer's Avengers during the final battles against Archon Katherine Steiner in early 3067, or assigned to the Avengers by the Allied forces specifically for the assault on Avalon Island on New Avalon. The Little Sorrell transported the Avengers - disguised to appear as the Outland Legion rather than themselves - in an assault on the area around Portsmouth City intended to be significant enough, and plausible enough, to convince Katherine Steiner and Marshal Jackson Davion that it was the main Allied assault against her, drawing attention away from the actual main thrust on the other side of Avalon Island.[1]
The disguised Avengers landed in five separate Landing Zones, implying that they had five or more DropShips available, and the Little Sorrell remained in place during the initial assault, adding fire support from its weapons, as the Avengers engaged Loyalist forces including the Fourth Avalon Militia.[1]
