Lorri Bent was a Solaris VII MechWarrior. She was a petite blonde. She wore her hair cropped close and with several small spots shaved to accommodate neurohelmet contacts. She was a known fighter in The Reaches, even having fought a few times in the big five. In 3054 she fought against Stanley "The Steamer" Shultz in his "Clan"-Thunderbolt on the Hartford Gardens, and in a quick fight (of less than 15 minutes) she ended killing him with an unfortunate cockpit shot. Known fights from her included some memorable fights in The Scrapyard.
She had fought several times in the King of the Mountain previously to her famous match against Vampires Stables stablemaster Dick Benson. She knew its dangers and previously she had been surprised in that arena. It was a known place for her. Another reason for her to be contracted for that fight was her record of eight victories against the Vampires' MechWarriors.
MechWarrior Lorri Bent bringing the second Sasquatch prototype to fully operational status, with a few extra weapons and a kill switch for the first prototype installed in hers. Bent handily defeated the Vampires stablemaster Dick Benson (seven times winner in the King of the Mountain), effectively destroying both 'Mechs (though hers may be salvageable). Dr. David C. Vining subsequently hired her for VEST.
As a test pilot for VEST, Lorri gave the Volkh its first public airing in a battle against Ivan Menlikov of the Wraiths Stables, who chose to fight in a Banshee expecting her opponent to use his usual Sasquatch. Thanks to her 'Mech Hardened Armor Lorri closed to point-blank range while resisting a storm of PPC, Gauss rifle, Laser and SRM missile fire to finally deliver a flurry of lance blows, which began to penetrate the assault 'Mech's thick armor, and finally delivered crippling damage to the Banshee's XL power plant.[1]
BattleMechs[edit]
She piloted several 'Mechs during her years as Solaris Warrior. In her final match she did fight with the second prototype of the Sasquatch. After that she became a test pilot for VEST.[2]
Once as a test pilot for VEST, she also fought with a Volkh.[1]
