History[edit]

Loucynda Byrd came from an impoverished family, which gave her the drive to improve her lot in life.[1]

She started working for the Solaris Council as a clerk for one of the Council members and learned to her core how corrupt the system on Solaris VII was. Before reaching 20 she was elected to his current post taking the position of her former employer.[1]

She was one of the vice-chairmen of the Solaris Civic Council. She is the council troubleshooter, keeping a look for any irregularities in the duels and taking action when necessary to end them.[2] If she feels that anything can upset the balance of power on the Solaris Arenas, she has made her business (using her community assets) to make whatever is needed to maintain the status quo on the Game World. She is well-known as one of the few active individuals on the Solaris Council, enjoying a very public role. She has connections in every sector and every business on the planet.[3] She has connections with the Yakuza and other criminal organizations on planet. She is a dangerous woman whom people should not cross. She is called "The Iron Glue" because she's what is holding the planet together.[4]

In 3053 she was involved in an incident during the Games related to the Seven Deadly Sins Stables and Professor Burke Kale regarding the possibility of remote 'Mech piloting or the cockpit outside the Head. She contracted a freelance team and asked them to gather specific information so the Council could decide what to do with the Stable.[2] NAISCIT closed the incident and "closed" the loose ends with Loucynda.[5]

Loucynda Byrd was also involved in an incident related to the kidnapping of Dr. David Courtney Vining of Vining Engineering and Salvage Team by The Dark Eyes Stables, a stable that has been after this blackmail Bromley Stables to throw their fights and interrogated to get more information on the technology he uses and the 'Mechs he designs. She contracts Clan Warrior Carlton Davis to train and direct a small team armed with ten Clan battle armor (at least one of the belonging to Clan Ghost Bear). Once the mission is completed she orders the Doctor to lie to everybody and just tell he was on vacations, while she shares with Carlton the name of the ComStar Adept, now Precentor Victoria Alexander stationed on Bromhead, near the Periphery that might have the information he is seeking. Loucynda though warms him that if he goes there, he will find the truth he wants but it will hurt his Clan.[6]

She likes to arrange her meetings in the Star League Park at 2 a.m.[2][6]

Byrd owns a sports car modified by the North Pier-based Rakker's Machine Shop to include a concealed trio of machine guns and a Streak SRM rack, features she had used to fend off at least one surprise attack against her person.[7]

Loucynda Byrd has a rumored twin sister, Barbara Byrd who owns and operates the Star Heights club in Xolara. Despite the fact several members of the Solaris Civic Council maintain membership in the Star Heights, their identical last names and that their striking resemblance, no formal evidence exists of a family connection between them.[8]
