Macho Alvarado was an officer within the mercenary Seventeenth Recon Regiment, also known as Camacho's Caballeros.[1]

History[edit]

Born on one of the three Southwest Trinity worlds, Macho Alvarado was a MechWarrior who served in the Seventeenth Recon Regiment. Marcho was described as a dark and handsome norteño with extremely fast reflexes.[1] By 3056, Macho was piloting a blue BLR-3M BattleMaster named "Macho Man"[2] in the Seventeenth's Adelente company.[3]

On the 27th of August 3056, Macho was the butt end of a joke arranged by Billy "Cowboy" Payson, which saw Federated Commonwealth news reporter Archie Westin attempt to greet Macho with a phrase that he had been given by Cowboy and which was actually highly insulting. Archie Westin only escaped being stabbed or killed by Macho through the actions of Lieutenant Cassie Suthorn, who predicted his reaction and disabled him before he could land a blow; Cassie had to render Macho unconscious with a sleeper hold to finally subdue him, as he refused to listen to reason.[1]

Macho's temper and lack of judgement were demonstrated on at least two more occasions during the Seventeenth's time on Hachiman; on the 6th of September 3056, during a practice exercise conducted in front of various members of the planetary nobility - including Chandrasekhar Kurita, the Seventeenth's employer - Macho kicked out the leg of another Caballero's 'Mech, a white Locust, and then attempted to club the 'Mech of exercise referee Captain Kali MacDougall with Macho Man's ER PPC, only to be knocked to the ground by Kali in return.[2] Then, two weeks later on the 22nd of September, Macho fought a duel with knives against a large Kiowa MechWarrior from Infante Company, blooding his opponent - who went by the call sign Metalhead - before being pinned and nearly fatally stabbed in return.[4]
