Planetary History[edit]

Clan Invasion[edit]

Mannedorf was attacked by the 304th Assault Cluster of Clan Ghost Bear in March 3052, part of the fifth wave of Operation REVIVAL. Two of the Cluster's units, the Seventy-second Assault Trinary and First Elemental Support Binary, had won the right to participate in the assault upon The Gold Miners, a mercenary company hired to defend the planet (having decreed all mercenaries to be honorless dezgra, the bidding for who would destroy them had been fierce among the Ghost Bears). The Seventy-second confronted the Gold Miners at the Silvermain Mines, but it was actually a trap intended to bury the Clanners under a pile of rubble by packing every nook and cranny with all of the explosives they could find. Unbeknownst to the Miners, the Ghost Bears had intercepted their communications and knew of the plan; furthermore they knew of a hidden Star League base beneath and behind the mine shafts. Elementals were sent ahead to open the entrance to the base's tunnel network. When the Seventy-second entered the mines the mercenaries the Gold Miners triggered their explosives, which detonated just after the Clan warriors managed to slip to safety through the hidden entrance. As the Gold Miners emerged from the rear exit they found the Seventy-second waiting for them, and the company was wiped out.[40]

According to apocryphal sources (the German-only novels Katze unter Bären and Clanwächter), Mannedorf featured an HPG station at its north pole, where Ghost Bear scientists made attempts to introduce real Ghost Bears.

As of mid-3054, this station repeatedly came under attack from Inner Sphere mercenaries for reasons unknown. It was speculated that the Clan Watch may somehow have invited the attacks, with the aim of inciting tensions and combat in the region.

Also in 3054 it was found that the ostensibly empty Star League facility beneath the HPG station held almost two hundred Star League era BattleMechs in good condition (identified 'Mechs in the cache include a Warhammer, Griffin, Enforcer, Vindicator, Wyvern, and Phoenix Hawk LAM).

Dark Age[edit]

A contingent from the Forty-fourth Benjamin Regulars successfully raided Mannedorf; a key part of the Benjamin Regulars success was due to a strike conducted by a pair of Stalking Spider II BattleMechs supported by battle armor that destroyed the recently constructed underground command and control headquarters of the local defending forces.[41]
