The Marcinko was a Claymore-class DropShip and one of the numerous vessels assigned to Task Force Serpent, the covert military task force assembled by the Second Star League to attack Clan Smoke Jaguar in the Clan Homeworlds in 3059/3060.

On 12 March 3060, the Marcinko performed a covert insertion into the atmosphere of Huntress to insert two squads of Rabid Foxes onto the planet so that the Foxes could observe the Clan Jade Falcon enclaves and forces on the planet. The Marcinko's mission was considered necessary by Task Force SERPENT because the Star League forces found it hard to believe that the Falcons wouldn't get involved in the Spheroid campaign against the Smoke Jaguars despite the briefings they had been given based on intelligence about how the individual Clans operated.[1]
