Federated Commonwealth Contract – Training[edit]
You will act as a trainer for a young Federated Commonwealth Prince. In addition, you will patrol the world of Meacham, looking for reported enemy activity. Job pays 750,000 C-Bills, already on deposit with ComStar. The Commonwealth will pay for all reasonable ammunition expenses.

Babysitting a prince, just what I need. It wouldn’t be so bad, but the kid actually thinks he’s in charge. So, I’m going to have to pretend to take orders from him while making sure he doesn’t shoot his own arm off. But, it’s good money, no danger. I can handle a little humiliation for cash.

As we get closer to the drop zone, I’m starting to look forward to this. The way I figure it, House Davion wouldn’t let anything happen to a prince, even if he is only 17th in line for the throne. My bet is that anyone we face on Meacham will be a plant. They’ll shoot a few rounds at us, then expire gracefully to pad the kid’s ego. Wait’ll they see me. I’m gonna rip ‘em apart.

Marvin Carter, Steward to House Davion: We are employing you for a very delicate mission. Prince Luther is distant in the line for the throne, but he is still of the royal blood of House Davion. Before he faces real combat, he must be trained; however, he already sees himself as a proven MechWarrior. In fact, he only agreed to this mission because he thinks he is your superior. Your main duty is to accompany and guard Prince Luther. House Davion hopes that he will gain experience by operating in the field. If any harm comes to the young prince, you will pay dearly.

Marvin Carter, Steward to House Davion: House Davion thanks you for protecting the young prince. We did not expect there would be any combat on Meacham. The pirates who attacked you in an attempt to kidnap Prince Luther slipped through our surveillance. Without your quick reactions and skill, the prince would have been abducted. Such an embarrassment to the Federated Commonwealth could have gravely affected the current balance of power.

In other news from House Davion, the dashing Prince Luther seems to have come of age. After spending the last few years in a whirlwind of debutante balls and court functions, Luther has finally taken his place among the Federated Commonwealth’s warriors. He recently led an unidentified mercenary unit into battle against pirates on Meacham, where he took an easy victory. Prince Luther was awarded the Iron Talon for bravery in the face of the enemy on his return to Tharkad.
