MechWarrior’s Campaign Journal[edit]

November 4, 3045[edit]

Now THIS isn’t a bad idea. Maybe I should get out of the combat game and start looking into theft. I bet they’re raking in C-Bills, and all with someone else’s land. Then again, that mining and refining equipment can’t be cheap. What would I do when someone just like me came along and blew it up?

November 16, 3045[edit]

Just entered New Oslo’s orbit. Maybe it really is time for me to get out of this gig. The whole poont is to make money without dying, and I’ve done that pretty well so far. I can keep on pushing it, but all the money in the world doesn’t do a corpse any good. Maybe after one more big score, one that’ll keep me in style until I die.

Debriefing[edit]

Sarah Carpenter, FRR Director of Mercenary Affairs: The people of New Oslo can once more live without the pirates’ oppressive presence. Sometimes our jobs do let us help people without ulterior motives and harmful side effects. If only it could be so more often.

New Oslo Free Crier – November 18, 3045[edit]

We are once more the victims of those who wage war around us. Six months ago, pirates invaded New Oslo, drilled mines, and established a refinery. The pirates ignored our protests and destroyed Skalinsk, killing all of its inhabitants, as a warning to the rest of us.

We contacted the FRR governor responsible for our quadrant, and the Republic sent several messengers and threats. The pirates killed the messengers, scoffed at the threats, and destroyed Smolva as another warning.

Next, the FRR hired the mercenary unit which arrived yesterday. They succeeded in defeating the pirates and promptly lifted off, leaving the wreckage of our planet behind them. Now the pirates are dead, the mercenaries have been paid, and the FRR feels that it has done its duty. But we of New Oslo still have a shattered world, and thousands of dead friends and relatives. Why is this madness allowed to continue? Will the wars end?
