A small group of pirate ‘Mechs are still trapped on the world following their raid three weeks ago. This short mission lasts only two months and pays 400,000 C-Bills, already on deposit with ComStar. Tiger Hunt[edit]

MechWarrior’s Campaign Journal[edit]

May 3, 3045[edit]

We’re two hours out of a hot burn down onto Engadin. Apparently, a ‘Mech was left on-planet when the rest of the pirates pulled out, and now they’re coming back for him. Three pirate DropShips have already put down and are transmitting homing beacons so that the straggler can get off-planet quickly.

May 3, 3045[edit]

Last thought. We’re down, but I’m still waiting for the DropShip ‘Mech bay to open up. I almost feel sorry for the guy we’re hunting. Why the FRR won’t just let the pilot pay a ransom, I don’t know, but the orders are very clear. I have to kill him. If he ejects, he’ll be dead by the time he hits the ground. Hexall didn’t say anything, but I know that the FRR hates using mercenaries. This must be too dirty a job for their precious KungsArmé.

Mercenary Briefing[edit]

Omar Hexall, FRR Planetary Representative: Engadin, a small Rasalhague world, was attacked three weeks ago by a band of pirates. The local militia and FRR troops managed to fend them off, and we believed that the planet had been cleared of pirate influence.

Hexall: Now, our intelligence has located at least one heavy ‘Mech which was left behind during the pirates’ hasty withdrawal. Several pirate DropShips hae appeared over Engadin to rescue their lost comrade. Track down the final ‘Mech and kill him. If you have to, wait for him to climb out of his cockpit in surrender. But kill him.

  • Codename: Tiger Hunt
  • Planet: Engadin
  • Terrain: Mesa Desert
  • Time: Morning
  • Expected Resistance: 1 Pirate Assault ‘Mech
  • Your Call-Sign: Hunter

Hexall: Search the three NAV points in order to find the enemy pirate ‘Mech. Once he is found, destroy the enemy ‘Mech.

Objectives[edit]

  • Target: Destroy enemy ‘Mech

Aftermath[edit]

Omar Hexall, FRR Planetary Representative: You have successfully tracked and eliminated the pirate ‘Mech. Mercy is far too precious to waste on that pirate scum. We of the FRR extend our gratitude to you for your efficiency.

The Engadin Informer – May 30, 3045[edit]

Pirate presence on Engadin ended today as mercenaries hunted down a pirate ‘Mech who was left behind after an attempted invasion three weeks ago.

Instead of taking him prisoner or ransoming him, as would be expected, the mercenaries brutally butchered him, allowing him to eject from his badly damaged ‘Mech, but then shooting him out of the sky as he parachuted to safety.

Outraged citizens of Engadin confronted Omar Hexall, the planet’s Free Rasalhague representative, outside his New Troy office earlier today. In response, Hexall stated “The Free Rasalhague Republic did, indeed, hire this group of mercenaries to locate the pirate ‘Mech. We did not, however, order his murder. It was our intention from the beginning to ransom him to the pirates, exchanging him for their departure from the area. We are as disgusted and horrified by the mercenaries’ actions as are you, and have already initiated proceedings to have them arrested for murder.”
