Operation 4, Mission 4[edit]
BRIEFING[edit]
Sorenson: Okay. So, there is the Galaxy Commander's personal shuttle out here. That could get us back to the Eclipse, though it means abandoning our 'Mechs. The easy part is figuring out where it landed.
Gunner: We are not going to like this.
Sorenson: No, you're not. If Galaxy Commander Corbett has finished hunting the rescue company, then he's coming for us. It's only a question of how far away he is as to when we'll meet up with him.
Mattila: The sooner the better. I say we owe him a few by now.
Sorenson: At least. Okay, we pulled this data from the records at the shuttle pad. It's a heavily fortified base. I doubt we have anything that can scratch it. However, we can hope to get at the power relay, which is protected within the range of the large cavity in its middle. Destroy the relay and clear out all enemy 'Mechs, and we'll see what we can do from there. Weather looks pretty bad up ahead, so the MFBs will move forward and then guide the rest of you in. Sorenson: [unintelligible]
Epona: Can anyone else make that out?
Mattila: Let me try to filter it. No. I'd say we're on our own.
Gunner: Why am I not surprised?
Epona: Because you're just so wonderful, Dominic.
Female Jaguar: Greetings, Freebirth. You will have the honor of being crushed at my feet.
Corbett: Glacial Ridge, this is Galaxy Commander Corbett. We have lost Phoenix Base. Watch for hostile forces.
Sorenson: Damocles Commando, we're trying to cut through the static interference.
Female Jaguar: We have enemy forces penetrating the interior.
Galaxy Commander Corbett: Star Captain Forrest, you are on top of this situation, quineg?
Forrest: Aff! I will handle this.
Female Jaguar: Power loss! Heating units are down! Interior weapons systems have failed. We are abandoning the fortress.
Corbett: Neg! You will remain! If you freeze at your post, you will not abandon it to the enemy. Do you understand? Glacial Ridge? Glacial Ridge, I demand a status report! Do not abandon the fortress!
Mattila: He's gonna be very unhappy. Hey, score another tin can!
AFTERMATH[edit]
Sorenson: Good to see you all. Even you, Gunner. I think we've got most of the interference filtered out, now, though it was touch and go for a while. We weren't sure we'd ever find you again once we lost contact. The only transmission that came through clearly was Brendan Corbett's, so he's close. Everyone watch your six. We're sorting through the matériel pulled out of the fortress. Next briefing coming up in a few minutes. Stand by.
