BRIEFING

Assault the Kallon ‘Mech works, destroying the hangars and any Templar OmniMech prototypes you encounter.

Castle: The Steiner liaison is offering a contract to assault the Kallon ‘Mech works on Talon. This is a high profile contract. Taking it on will likely blacklist us with the Davions. Whichever way you want to go in this conflict, we’re behind you, sir.

DURING MISSION

Spectre: Steiner’s paying us to take out the proving grounds where I reconned those Templars. We’re openly mounting an assault in force. I don’t know what each of you think of this war, politically, but we have a job to do, and I expect your best out here.

Castle: We’re all behind you, sir. Where you lead, we follow.

Blaze: That almost tickled!

Hannibal: Amen!

Spectre: Glad to hear it. Let’s take this base down.

Castle: There’s a security station at Nav Point Alpha. You’ll want to take it out first to avoid being flanked when you move on the base. Expect heavy turret defenses and ‘Mech forces.

Spectre: Engaging forces at Alpha. Looks like turrets and a reinforced recon lance. Easy pickings.

Hannibal: Enemy aircraft heading our way!

Spectre: That was fast! Maintain air watch, people. The last thing you need is some aerospace hotshot cracking your cockpit on this ice cube.

Spectre: Base defenders moving to engage! Confirm, one Assault Lance.

Hannibal: Davion lapdog!

Spectre: Assault Lance destroyed.

Spectre: Templars are active. That makes two Assault Lances on site! Watch yourselves in here!

Bullseye: They are tenacious.

Spectre: Double up on targets and take them down fast!

Castle: We have to destroy the test facilities at Nav Points Alpha and Gamma.

Spectre: That’ll be a lot easier when these Assault ‘Mechs aren’t shooting at us.

Castle: If you move in close to the building, some of the stray shots may do part of the job for us.

Spectre: Gotcha. Good thinking, Castle.

Castle: I’ve got to give you some reason to keep me around.

Spectre: Roger. Heh heh heh.

Spectre: Gamma facility is destroyed.

Spectre: Confirmed. Templars are history.

Spectre: Delta is history. Good work, people. That was a tough fight. We’ve got a ways to go in this war. Let’s make sure we stay sharp.

Castle: As you expected, sir, the Davion mercenary liaison has issued a noncontractible order on us. Looks like we’re in it with the Lyrans for the rest of this fight.

AFTERMATH

Notice from the MRBC: FedCom Black List

To: [PLAYER NAME], commander of [UNIT NAME]

This is a formal notice to [UNIT NAME], sponsored regiment of the [SPONSOR UNIT NAME]. The Federated Commonwealth has put you on their black list due to your continued support of Katrina Steiner in the FedCom Civil War. They provided a list of Steiner contracts your company has completed against Davion forces (see attached document). Your unit will no longer receive Davion contract information from the MRBC. This will not impact your MRBC ratings for reliability or loyalty. The MRBC is neutral in this war, and merely is notifying you that some contracts may no longer be available to you.

The following excerpt was filed by the Davion representative: “All mercenary forces continuing to ally with Steiner forces are formally being black listed by the Federated Commonwealth. At the cessation of the current hostilities, each case will be reviewed individually. It is fully expected that these black listings are temporary, and will be removed at the end of the conflict.”

Castle: That clinches it for us, sir. Davion has blacklisted us from future contracts with his forces. We’re riding with Katrina through the rest of this chaos. Things aren’t looking good for her on New Avalon. Analysts anticipate her demise within a month. We need to proceed with haste.
