DropShip descends towards Twycross. Lasers lance up from the surface, damaging the ship.

Mission Description

Holloway: Colonel, we're in serious trouble here. Our DropShip took heavy fire while entering the atmosphere, forcing us to set down in the middle of Clan held territory. Radar shows a large group of 'Mechs approaching. They're surrounding us and… sir, I'm receiving a transmission.

Armstrong: Put it through.

Dominga: Attention, Inner Sphere DropShip. I am Star Captain Dominga Pryde of the Jade Falcon touman. I challenge your commander for the submission of all forces aboard the DropShip, and I offer safe passage from this area should your warriors emerge victorious. I bid three Stars of 'Mechs against your forces.

Armstrong: I am Colonel Armstrong, commander of the DropShip and all forces therein. Seeing as you obviously have my position surrounded, I must wonder why you are offering me this…challenge.

Dominga: I do not expect a Spheroid barbarian such as yourself to understand, but your actions on Winfield and Butler have proven you to be a worthy adversary. I offer you the dignity of honorable combat rather than simply letting my forces lay waste to your DropShip.

Armstrong: Very well, Star Captain, I accept your challenge. I bid a lance of 'Mechs and my DropShip against your forces. And, if I win, I demand you surrender yourself and your 'Mech in addition to allowing us safe passage from this place.

Dominga: Bargained well and done.

Armstrong: Get ready, Commander. This will be a tough fight. I'd expect mixed groups of medium and heavy machines. Luck!

DURING MISSION

Holloway: Here they come. Keep your lance together, and remember to use the DropShip's firepower to your advantage.

Kyle: We should try this more often. Take advantage of this stupid bidding system.

Omata: You are shortsighted not to see the strategic wisdom of Clan honor rules. They allow for a measured conflict, preserving assets for longer campaigns. It may prove inconvenient at times, but it is a noble effort to reduce the cost of war.

Kendra: By matching forces, there is a greater reliance on a warrior's personal skill. I don't know if I'd call it noble, but it makes life interesting.

Kyle: My life is interesting enough.

David: Why are you arguing over this? I'm just glad Pryde didn't waste us after we landed.

Kyle: Cheerful, ain't he?

Dominga: An impressive performance so far, but this is the end for you.

Holloway: Here come the rest of them!

Dominga: Falcon warriors! Can you not defeat a single lance of Inner Sphere surats!?

Dominga: Impossible! You have beaten me. I…I submit. I am now bondsman.
