The Mercury was a JumpShip of unknown class that served during the Dark Age.

Deandra Lowe, courier for the Periphery Express, used the Mercury to take information and items from one place to another within the Republic of the Sphere. It arrived in Vega in Prefecture I on 11 April 3135,[1] and shortly after would depart for Prefecture IX.[2] A few months later, Lowe used the JumpShip on a route that took her to Tybalt and then to New Rhodes III.[3]

As was the case with the vessel type of the Heart of Stone, the journal entries identify the Mercury as both a JumpShip[3] and DropShip.[1][2] In the context of interstellar travel as described in these entries, a JumpShip seems to be the more plausible type at this time.
