Meyer Bellagiorre was the 2918 through 2921 Grand Champion.[1]
History[edit]
Meyer Bellagiorre was considered the best medium-'Mech fighter on Solaris (he was Class Three Champion for five years straight), but increased even more his fame when in 2918 he won the Unlimited Class Championship in his first year of competition. His career was full of surprises, but luck was always on his side. He nearly lost the 2920 championship match to the up-and-coming MechWarrior named Thar Drickle, but his opponent's 'Mech struck a mine and stumbled at a crucial moment, giving Bellagiorre a change to strike its unarmored back. He did never seem to lose the wide-eyed wonder and the boyish innocence that many fans (particulary females) found appealing. In 2921, realizing that even he could run out of luck, he retired to found a chain of fast-food restaurants in his home district of Donegal. He died in 2967.[2]
