General Nguyen Huong was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's Seventh Army from 2763 until at least 2777.[1][2][3]

7th Army[edit]
The commander of LXV Corps within the Nineteenth Army until he was appointed to lead the Seventh Army in 2763, Nguyen was reputed to be one of the more aggressive and determined senior officers in the SLDF, and his promotion was intended to improve the performance of the struggling Seventh. Allowed to bring his own staff from the LXV Corps, he sought to visit many of the units within his command as soon as possible, and hoped to shake up its command structure to remove underperforming officers.[1]
A native of the Lyran Commonwealth, during his inspection tour he also worked hard to develop a good relationship with the local Capellan Confederation nobility. They viewed him as a gentlemen and he had received assurances that the CCAF units they commanded would support his units in an emergency. He also planned to use his political skills on the section of the Free Worlds League border which his troops operated on, in order to reassure them of his peaceful intentions and neutrality as well.[1]
Amaris Civil War[edit]
Huong remained in command of Seventh Army during the Amaris Civil War, participating in Operation LIBERATION in 2777, including the fighting in South East Asia on Terra against the Nineteenth Amaris Dragoons.[3]
Notes[edit]
- Nguyen Huong's name is erroneously spelled Ngyuen in Field Manual: SLDF.[1] While used as a first name for this character, it's worth noting that Nguyen is a very common surname of East Asian people, especially those from Vietnam. Huong is likewise a common transliteration of several different Chinese surnames.
