Title(s) Duke of Epsilon Eridani

Pierre Benton became the Duke of Epsilon Eridani from 3062 to 3067.[1]

History[edit]

At the beginning of Operation GUERRERO, Pierre Benton was the commanding officer of the Epsilon Eridani Sarna March Militia. Several pro-Liao rebels caused damage and insurrection on the world, but despite these pro-Liao forces lacking any real support from the Capellan Confederation, the confusion they caused was devastating to Epsilon Eridani. In the chaos that resulted from several well-planned bombings as well as the dissolution of the Federated Commonwealth, the planetary government was left with a crisis they couldn't solve. General Benton ordered his troops to find the pro-Liao forces, and three weeks of heavy combat destroyed the guerrillas. The local government saw this as an illegal act and demanded Benton step down. He refused, and the Epsilon Eridani Sarna March Militia then seized the capital city and arrested the governing council. Shortly after Benton was elected leader of Epsilon Eridani, he renamed the Sarna March Militia unit the Eridani Guards.[2]

He was behind the Dillinger combat vehicle process. Originating from presidential order on independent world of Epsilon Eridani, the Dillinger Police Vehicle was created to aid the planet during the chaotic time period when the world was part of the Chaos March.[3][4] With production beginning in 3059 at Kressly Warworks's factory, the vehicle was created for the Police forces across Epsilon Eridani to help combat the increased criminal presence on the planet. Pierre Benton had ordered the vehicle made by the local factory to help police boost their presence in the planet's various cities.[3][4]

He was still in charge when in 3067, when George Santos found a long-lost Star League depot and a Colossus-class DropShip within it in mid-May 3067, and after MechWarriors from the Lone Star Regiment (in the employ of General Atomics) and Redfield's Renegades (in the employ of Minroc Mines Interstellar) heard of it and battled over that.[1]
