Pitban (Jump Jets)

(Redirected from Pitban LFT-50)

Standard Jump Jets[edit]

Pitban standard jump jet designs have been produced in a number of variants. The best known versions are listed below.

Pitban 6000[edit]

Produced from 2675 to 2837 for the Urbanmech, the Pitban 6000 is a simple design that was produced in large numbers until the factory on Marcus was destroyed in the Second Succession War.

Pitban 9000[edit]

Pitban 9000s were fitted on the age old Phoenix Hawk, also (originally) built by Orguss Industries.

Pitban LFT-10[edit]

The LFT-10 series was unveiled in 2650 at part of the SDR-5V Spider program. A notable design, providing top of the line maneuvering ability while still being easy to install. The LFT-10 pack in the Spider has the ability to pivot in midair while maintaining sufficient control to maintain the Mech's intended course. This marked agility can make the Spider a difficult target to engage.

Pitban LFT-50[edit]

One of the oldest Jump Jet designs known, the LFT-50 was first used in 2457 in the first versions of the Shadow Hawk. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the design is that the system is essentially unremarkable. In almost seven centuries of production there is a lack of commentary describing the system as particularly good in any respect nor are there reports of significant flaws in the design.

Pitban LFT-65[edit]

The LFT-65 series was built for the C-SK-1 Cossack, a light mech with affordability being a key design characteristic.

Improved Jump Jets[edit]

Based on information given to the Inner Sphere by Clan Wolf-in-Exile, Pitban's improved jump jet models are heavier than their standard models, but can propel 'Mechs further.[10]

Pitban LFT-20X[edit]

Initially the SDR-8R Spider was designed with a novel partially winged design that proved unworkable. In place of the hybrid wing system the LFT-20X series of jump jets was built and installed in the SDR-8R allowing for a 25% increase in jump capacity.
