History[edit]
Richard Pettigrew was a Precentor within ComStar who rose to command the 214th Division between 3049 and 3052, when he was demoted after the Battle of Tukayyid.[1] He kept command of the unit as a Demi-Precentor until 3067 thanks to the steadfast loyalty shown by the rebuilt division to him.[2][3][4]
He was one of the most infamous members of the Com Guards. He was highly critical of the number of lives lost on Tukayyid and was demoted for insubordination, only avoiding a full court martial thanks to his performance at Plough Bridge. He was a staunch opponent of both the policies of Anastasius Focht and "Tiny Tyrant" Victor Steiner-Davion. While not showing any great inclination towards the Word of Blake, these opinions were in large part the reason why ROM questioned the loyalty of the 214th to ComStar.[1][2][3][4]
