What is that game ?

I noticed several quotations from this game in sarna.net and my books. The game mechanism look different from Aerotech with less details on aerospace fighters management (especialy in armament). Did that the game throw bases for the Aerotech game and so is Aerotech its descendant ? Or is it a totaly different view of aerospace warfare ? --FIVE-one 13:40, 26 April 2009 (PDT)

I don't have the title, but my understanding is that it's an updated version of AeroTech. It was superseded by AeroTech 2. --Scaletail 15:08, 26 April 2009 (PDT)

Kinda. BattleSpace was designed primarily for DropShip, JumpShip and WarShip combat, IIRC it did have some ASF rules but greatly simplifed to the point even it recommended classic AeroTech if you wanted pure ASF combat.Cyc 18:39, 26 April 2009 (PDT)

Thanks for your answers. From what I'm reading it clearly simplify ASF combats, but IMHO Aerotech 2 is far more interesting to play, as it offers ASF combats but also the possibility to fight with large ships in space but also in atmosphere (at least for ASF).

Yes, BattleSpace was superseded along with AeroTech when AeroTech 2 came out. That's another reason TRO:3057 Revised came out, original was BattleSpace stats, while Revised was AeroTech 2 statsCyc 16:42, 27 April 2009 (PDT)

Problems with article

Hi, the problem is the content listed for the BattleSpace is mainly content of the Rulebook. The source book was a completely seperate book that had complete history of the Inner Sphere. I believe the content listing of the rule book is misplaced in the main Battlespace article and could confuse someone figuring out what is in the actual box set. I believe the BattleSpace source redirect should not be going directly to main Battlespace article. -- Wrangler 20:07, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

But the contents of the Sourcebook are listed below the Rulebook. My copy of BattleSpace has the two books bound together like the DropShips and Jumpships sourcebook, so I don't have a problem with pointing the sourcebook and rulebook links to the relevant part of the boxed set page. Sorry for the resurrection of this topic. Only reason why i kept them seperate, least my edition of the box set (I believe this is English verses German?) were printed differently from one another. Two different books. That should be noted. I'm fine with them in one article though, help people who know there are two books which were put in same box. -- Wrangler (talk) 19:34, 6 July 2014 (PDT)
