Naturally occurring vs. "developed"[edit]

Well it can be only one or the other: Either HarJel is said naturally occurring substance and was discovered by the Diamond Sharks, or HarJel was developed from a naturally occurring substance but said substance is not the same as HarJel - be that because HarJel is a refined product, or a totally synthetic product based on said substance. I don't have the source book so cannot look it up myself. Frabby 01:40, 28 April 2009 (PDT)

Afair, CDS discovered a natural petroleum-like substance and uses it as a chemical basis for the HarJel.
In the novel where Diana Pryde gets her bloodname (title forgotten) a similar substance on Ironhold is mentioned. Joanna thinks, it's useless: it can't be used as grease and it can't be turned into HarJel. --Detlef 03:16, 28 April 2009 (PDT)

HarJel on 'Mechs[edit]

I prefer to ask you before doing something that would be edited if not appropriated. As you can see in the article image, HarJel is also known in MW:AoD as a gear card. It can equip a 'mech (like every gear cards). As far as I know, it's a new type of Harjel repairing the 'Mech, known as Harjel II and Harjel III. I can't tell you when it has been introduced (near 3138) for 'mechs, but what I know is that is a canon information, as it comes from AoD. Shall I add it in the article ? --FIVE-one 12:32, 29 April 2009 (PDT)

Yes, please do add this canonical information (aka Be bold)! Frabby 13:02, 29 April 2009 (PDT)
You won't have to tell it twice ! --FIVE-one 13:19, 29 April 2009 (PDT)

Naturaly occourring vs. developed[edit]

I was confused about that myself, in "Blood In The Water" (the into story in MechWarrior's Guide to the Clans) they talk about the fact that Clan Diamond Shark is the sole producer of HarJel and that their monopoly is in danger due to the fact that a synthetic HarJel is rumoured to be in production by rival Clans, hence I made the assumption that while HarJel is a naturally occurring substance it requires refinement in order to be used ie. development. I do agree that it needs elaboration. --User:FellBlade

MechWarrior's Guide to the Clans[edit]

I went through this book and the only reference i could find is in the intro story "Blood in the Water" by Loren L. Coleman. I have added a citation and removed the "Update Needed" banner Straw Boss (talk) 03:15, 16 May 2018 (EDT)
