History[edit]

Newly formed when Clan Wolf attacked Tharkad, the unit was barely combat capable when it came time to assist in the defense of the capital. Rather than disband this new regiment, Archon Trillian reinforced the unit with survivors from the destroyed Twentieth and Twenty-fifth Arcturan Guards. The unit's recovery was still ongoing as of 3145.[1]

Following the Jade Falcons leaving their occupation zone and the Twenty-sixth's recapture of Arcturus, CO Sarah Regis disbanded the unit and used the soldiers to form her new Armed Forces of Tamar. The Lyran loyalists were sent to Lyran space. There were only 216, mostly technicians, and only two officers, sibling Leftenant Isobel Carlyle and Hauptmann Ronan Carlyle. All were cashiered from the LCAF and re-formed the Gray Death Legion.[2]

Regis divided the unit that remained with her into the First, Second, and Third Tamar Jaegers, while using the remaining armor and infantry assets to form the Homefront Guard.[3]

Ironically, 3152 found the Third Jaegers and the Lyran loyalists on the Guards working together on Crimond, as the loyalists, after being cashiered from the LCAF, had re-formed the mercenary unit Gray Death Legion, and were contracted by the Pact.[4]
