History[edit]

The Urizen II was one of the first two Kirishima-class cruisers to enter service with the Draconis Combine; manufactured in the shipyards above Midway, the DCS Urizen II underwent trials in secret, entering service in mid-3058, well ahead of estimates. A sister ship to the Urizen II, the DCS Shiro entered service around the same time, having also completed her shakedown trials ahead of schedule; while the Shiro was deployed to the Benjamin system, the DCMS remained in the important Midway system.[1]

Two sister-ships to the Shiro and the Urizen II - the DCS Takashi and DCS Siriwan - were under construction as the Urizen II entered service,[1] but with the loss of the Shiro in action the Urizen II was one of just three Kirishima-class ships still on active service in 3067.[2]

During the Jihad the crew of the Urizen II was co-opted by the Kokuryu-kai; the Black Dragon Society used the Urizen II to launch attacks on ships belonging to Clan Nova Cat, culminating in an attack on Nova Cat merchant ships gathered at the nadir point of the Avon system. The Urizen II destroyed four Nova Cat JumpShips as well as two of the Nova Cat's converted merchant-caste configuration Carrack-class transports, the NCS Nebula and NCS Void, before being engaged by the flagship of the Nova Cat WarShip fleet, the Black Lion-class battlecruiser NCS Severen Leroux, her escort flotilla. The Urizen II was swiftly overwhelmed and destroyed by the Nova Cat WarShips.[3][4][5][6]
