New Standards in Weapons and Equipment Articles

Hey .240 welcome to the wiki,

I saw that you have been doing some work on some of the weapons and equipment articles. The tables you have been updating have been superseded by a new format and the Used By has been replaced with Typically Used In as in an example of what unit it might be mounted in. A good example of the new format can be found in the Autocannon/20 article.

Unfortunately I kinda have a bit of a confession to make now, I have let the change over to the new standard grind to a halt however because there are other areas of the wiki I enjoy working on more, as such there are a fair few articles either not transitioned over or only partially so. I was putting in useful information as to which faction has each model, not useless information as to which book mech has a particular model. you deleted all my work. I just wont wast my time helping ya'll anymore.

I came here looking for the information on which faction uses which model, information that other users would - I am certain - be looking for. You didn't have that information so I thought I was helping by adding useful information that others need. I never said it is useless. The problem is that in the BattleTech universe over the 1000 year span of the timeline everybody uses everything eventually due to salvage culture, trade and worlds changing hands. As such used by is possibly misleading and almost impossible to naildown specifics. I am not trying to drive you away from the wiki or purposefully destroy your work but as an admin part of my job is keeping things in line. An unregistered IP making edits that deviate from the wiki standards is always going to attract attention.--Dmon (talk) 20:01, 25 May 2020 (EDT)
