User talk:BigDuke66

Welcome, BigDuke66, to BattleTechWiki!

Thank you for your contributions; you seem to be off to a good start. Hopefully you will soon join the army of BattleTech Editors! If you need help formatting the pages visit the manual of style. For general questions go to the Help section or the FAQ. If you can't find your answer there, please ask an Admin. If you have any more questions after that, feel free to ask me directly on my user talk page.

Additional tips[edit]

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the wiki:

  • For policies and guidelines, see The Five Pillars of BattleTechWiki.
  • If you want to play around with your new wiki skills, the Sandbox is for you. Don't worry: you won't break anything. A great resource for printing out is the Wiki Cheat Sheet.
  • Consider registering at the site (if you haven't already). That way, you'll get name recognition and respect for the effort you put in here.
  • Also considering writing something about yourself on your UserPage (marked as BigDuke66 at the top of the page). You'll go from being a 'redshirt' to a 'blueshirt,' with the respect of a more permanent member.
  • Introduce yourself at the new user log.
  • In your Preferences, under the edit tab, check Add pages I create to my watchlist and Add pages I edit to my watchlist, so that you can see how your efforts have affected the community. Check back on each visit by clicking on my watchlist.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random button in the sidebar, or check out the List of Wanted Pages. Or even go to Special Pages to see what weird stuff is actually tracked by this wiki.
  • Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date.

Welcome[edit]

Welcome from me, as well! I appreciate you taking the time to discuss changes and actually using talk pages. If I could make one suggestion? Rather than leaving a summary of your changes on an article's talk page, write than in the "summary" box located directly beneath the edit window. This allows everybody to see what you did on the Recent changes page, without having to go to the talk page. Also, the sources are great, so could you please incorporate them into the article? This can be done by adding "<ref>Author Name, Title, etc.</ref>", then create a "Notes" section and add "<references/>". Thanks! --Scaletail 21:17, 15 July 2008 (CDT)

Products[edit]

Man, dawg! Great streak you're on. If I may ask, where are you getting those images? Do you have all of these old products yourself? --Revanche (talk|contribs) 10:20, 17 July 2008 (CDT)

Yes most of them, to be precise almost all sourcebooks(YEA background!), no scenario & campaign stuff(only minor background) and no old rulebooks(again only minor background).--BigDuke66 20:25, 17 July 2008 (CDT)

WikiProject Military Commands[edit]

I created a new WikiProject to encompass all military commands. Since you've done a lot of work in the past with them, please come over and sign up so that we can improve the coverage of all units. --Scaletail 14:17, 14 February 2009 (PST)

Image replacement[edit]

Just because you work with images a lot, if you click on the old image (to go to its page), you'll see a link to replace it with another one. That way, you don't have to deal with changing names in articles and such. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 11:43, 26 June 2009 (PDT)

Capellan Confederations Armed Forces page[edit]

Hi BigDuke66, The status listings listed next to the unit on the main page for the CAAF is unneccesary. It clutters the page, the detail information should go only into the article themselves. Listing of Destroyed units is ment only as quick references since units can be resurrected or rebuilt. If you could move your information you added to the regiment articles, that would be swell. Sorry to bother you regarding things. -- Wrangler 15:59, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Yea I already thought that this is too much info for the main page, I'll edit it now.--BigDuke66 17:14, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi Duke, you don't need go crazy adding tons of links to same article repeatively. I to explain why removed the extra links to the Fourth Succession War. Its good have link to it, but you don't want over due to the extra links. -- Wrangler 15:59, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

McCormack's Fusiliers Confusion[edit]

Hi BigDuke66, I think you may have mixed up stuff with your McCormack's Fusiliers with Marion's Highlanders articles. In McCormack article you talk about the Marion's Highlanders for unspecifed reasons that doesn't deal with McCormack. I was going trying fix it, but do you want do it first. I'm not certain if you type up something and forgot to add something. -- Wrangler 15:28, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Thanks let me check that, seems I mixed up the regiments I'll correct that.--BigDuke66 15:48, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Independent Commands[edit]

Hiya BigDuke66, about the Capellan Independant commands. The Citizen Brigade became a home for the independant commands. I won't say their gone. Blackwind Lancers CAME BACK from Free Capellan renegades forces after Operation: Thunderbolt and 3074 Battle for Sian. I'd would just re-frame the entries as independant commands as being these are independent commands that existed through various eras. Remember, just because there anything current, does mean there won't be in the days to come. -- Wrangler 14:47, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

24th Arcturan Guards[edit]

Hi BigDuke. Question. Where did you find the unit insigna for the 24th Arcturan Guards? I added some infomation from the 4th Succession War books to it, but i've never seen actual profile done for the unit itself. -- Wrangler 16:55, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Well Doneve uploaded the insignia and it seems to come from the House Steiner sourcebook p.69.--BigDuke66 19:47, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
