Isoroku Kurita[edit]

Isoroku Kurita is up. I just love Robert Charette's minor characters. :P ClanWolverine101 04:15, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Dragoons Images[edit]

Hy, have you any idea where we can found, images from Dechan Fraser and Jenette Rand, i search in all my sources and my litte databas...but grml.--Doneve 00:19, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

No, I don't think so. In the novel Wolf Pack, there is a picture of Fraser talking to Takashi Kurita, but its from behind. :( ClanWolverine101 00:51, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
  • Hmm, ok i look what i do can to bring it on top.--Doneve 00:56, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Vasily Cherenkoff[edit]

Vasily Cherenkoff is up. Yes, another Kuritan Warlord jerk. Everyone who worked for Takashi Kurita was an ass-hole. It was essentially a job requirement. :P ClanWolverine101 05:27, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

The Planet Thomas[edit]

The planet Thomas has been posted. Apparently, its a small, Liao world that keeps getting left off the maps. Feel free to discuss this on the Talk:Thomas page. ClanWolverine101 20:48, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Barber's Marauder IIs[edit]

Barber's Marauder IIs is up. I'm actually quite proud of this one, as I used all the current templates. I managed to find mention of them in a fairly long list of works. Also : The idea a full battalion of 100 ton Marauder IIs jumping up and down chasing somebody always amused me. Like Jurassic Park. :P ClanWolverine101 03:58, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Selvin Kelswa III[edit]

Selvin Kelswa III is up, for anyone who is interested. ClanWolverine101 05:30, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Tamar Jagers[edit]

Tamar Jagers is up. These guys have a weird history, in that they were there and then they weren't. Feel free to hit their "Discussion" page. ClanWolverine101 18:25, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Infantry[edit]

Hello my friend,

please can you help me to develope a infobox with following content:

Notable Unit: DEST Heavy Response Platoon Tech Base (Rating): Inner Sphere (E/X-E-E) Transport Weight: 4 tons Equipment: Primary Weapon: Secondary Weapon: Armor: Battle Value: 95 Notes: Platoon Type (Specialty): Ground MP: Jump MP: Platoon Size (Squad/Platoon): Armor Divisor: To-Hit Modifier (Range in Hexes): Maximum Weapon Damage (# of Troopers):

tnx

I forget... I will support your work with the updating of all military units. I will concentrate on the tactic and other small types.Neuling 21:32, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Neuling - I appreciate it. I like the idea of an Infantry infobox, but its probably outside of my expertise. ClanWolverine101 21:40, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
I Jump in, I create the needed Infantry Infobox, on next day, i hope you guys enjoy it.--Doneve 21:48, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Okidoky, i added a Infantry Units Infobox example, any thoughts.--Doneve 20:42, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Richard Steiner II[edit]

Richard Steiner II is up. Yeah, another jerk. It seems to be a thing with me. :) Anyway, I was proud of the research I did on this one, though I used quite a few "red links" (some of which are now on my to-do list). Still, I think the overall quality was good. ClanWolverine101 05:08, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Tamar Pact[edit]

Tamar Pact is up. What do people think? ClanWolverine101 18:17, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Hy ClanWolverine, very very nice article.--Doneve 18:20, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

sub-stub[edit]

Hey, tnx for your message. I have two questions to you:

1st: How many content is necessary for an article that he doesn't fall under the sub-stub category?
2nd: Can we create a common style for the biography like the units?

with best regards Neuling 18:56, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

No problem. To answer your questions:
1) Ask Rev. :)
2) Sure. The pic just jumped out at me because it was huge; most of the pics are "thumbs".
ClanWolverine101 20:59, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Cassie Suthurn[edit]

Hi Wolverine. I'm slowly doing Cassie Suthorn article, i do have the novel. I'm nearly burned myself out writing first two. I plan to do it within next or so. -- Wrangler 11:57, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

That's cool. I just through some stuff up there so it wouldn't be forgotten. Thanks. ClanWolverine101 21:17, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

2010 Founders Awards[edit]

Hey Wolverine! For being with us for just a year, you've had a huge impact on the quality of articles on BTW. The research and level of detail you put into articles is reflected immediately on the site. Thanks for all of your hard work! You've been awarded the Founder's Superior Editor of the Year award: Nicjansma 06:21, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Founder's Superior Writer of the Year Award

Thank you very much! Its nice to be recognized! :) ClanWolverine101 03:37, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Personal - Equipment[edit]

Hey wolverine. What is your opinion about my latest article about the euipments? I know it must be filled with additional information from the indivdual sources. I will do this the next couple of days. For help or any helpful thougths I'm grateful. Neuling 22:04, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Neuling - Its an impressive amount of material. I would suggest a new Project:Discussion page to go over thingslike formatting. (Much like you see with mechs, character bios, and planets.) Does that makes sense? ClanWolverine101 22:30, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Kester Hsiun Chi[edit]

Kester Hsiun Chi is up. Yet another minor Robert Charrette character I've become enamored with. :) ClanWolverine101 06:10, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Hy, sorry i have only the pdf version, with no pics :(.--Doneve 14:17, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Oh well. Thanks anyway! ClanWolverine101 06:23, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

7th Lyran Regulars[edit]

7th Lyran Regulars are up. These poor guys never stood a chance. Hey Doneve - got an insignia image for me? :) ClanWolverine101 11:47, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Isoroku[edit]

I laughed when I saw your summary memo, but can you please fill in the licensing info for File:Isoroku.jpg? I'm curious as to where it comes from and we can be fairly certain it falls under fair use. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 23:48, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Done. Sorry - I don't do images often. ClanWolverine101 01:08, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Looks like a leader token from the Succession Wars boardgame. Frabby 00:44, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Indeed it was. ClanWolverine101 01:05, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks!--Revanche (talk|contribs) 12:15, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

One Year[edit]

Wow. So I have been an Editor and Writer on Sarna.net for one year. In that year, I feel I've gotten to know a lot of you a little bit, and perhaps you've gotten to know me. I'd like to thank Rev and many others for really guiding me early on, helping me conform what I was doing to the greater whole without discouraging me at all. I'd like to thank Doneve, not only for his incredible amount of content, but for helpfully providing images to character bio articles, which helps make good articles into great ones. I'd like to thank Nic for starting this up in the first place, and for honoring me with a Founder's award. I'm grateful to all of you. (Yes, even you, Scaletail. :) ) Most of all, and this is selfish of me, I'm grateful to have an output where I can pursue my passion for writing.

When I look at some of my early contributions, I confess I do cringe a little. I was looking for my voice with respect to Sarna.net, and hadn't found it yet. I think I made progress with my Waco Rangers article, and I think I hit my groove with my later character articles. Along the way, I like to think I've helped improve other articles around the wiki, many with relatively small copyedits and "cleanup" tags reminding me to come back; others with far more substantial contributions. I've racked up a decent Edit Count (though I'll never touch Doneve. ;) ), but I like to think I've done so in good faith.

Because honestly? In my opinion, no article on this site is ever truly complete. There are always potential changes to be made, as the vision of the wiki changes. Even the product articles may need editing from time to time to note a reprinting, new versions (like the TROs), and new contexts. There are almost always copyedits, and compromises to style. So even though part of me considers the articles I've written from scratch to be my "children", another part of me knows I need to let them go, and (hopefully) let them grow with the help of other editors.

As we move forward, I hope to put a dent in the "to do" list of new articles I keep by my desk. I hope the wiki will grow in respect to the Classic Battletech community, which was always healthier than WizKids understood. I hope we are joined by more editors with a passion for this fictional universe and a willingness to work with others. I hope good thoughts for all of you.

Thanks all.

- ClanWolverine101 06:18, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks you to, for your great Bio articles.--Doneve 11:16, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Lyran Rangers[edit]

Convo here - Talk:Lyran Rangers - Issue I feel is important. ClanWolverine101 05:20, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Isle of Sky[edit]

Okay - I just finished the Isle of Skye. It was by far the longest, most difficult original article I have written yet. It may also be the most controversial, as I would humbly submit that all linked references to the Federation of Skye, Free Skye and the various rebellions (at least three) should redirect to this one article. No doubt we'll have some discussion on that. Nevertheless, I was as thorough as possible. Please give it a look and give me your opinion when you have a chance. Thanks. ClanWolverine101 08:13, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Hy ClanWolverine, i give you this All Purpose Award, 4th ribbon award for your, great great Isle of Skye article, i love it.Greetings--Doneve 09:49, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! ClanWolverine101 14:23, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Academies[edit]

Hey Wolverine, I will talk about this topic. I wrote most of the academy articelson sarna and they are accepted by most of the users. THink about it. Every Fieldmanual hold entire pages about the individual acadmies. Every academy is unique, some are the onyl hope for the cadets, because others are former SDLF institution like Nagelring and Northwind. Some supports large cadets corps and other gradute only a few dozens soldiers per year. My overview provide the common users with a feeling how long whould it take to accomplish the academic carrer successfull. Not every study field is provide on all academies and some have a high specialization. In the near future I will expande this chapter on sarna with more material. Neuling 17:04, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

That's a good point about the Field Manuals. I think, perhaps, if the formatting of the tables was a bit more polished, I'd be sold on the concept. Also, I don't know how comprehensive we want to be on the MW "Career Paths". Regardless, I respect the ambition of the article. ClanWolverine101 18:39, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
The academies are a cornerstone to most of the military organisation and I think that all aspects of the battletech univers are interesting to cover. I will work out on the influence of the academies, what is different and what are shared features. And remember many leaders of the great houses are former graduates. For example victor steiner davion was on Nagelring, Peter Steiner Davion in contrast on Robinson Battle Academy. I have another question to yow. I will make an article about the different castle brian types, but have not idea how to incorporate the available information in a good article. I have access to the maps and the information to. Please give me a inspiration... Neuling 19:46, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Questíon[edit]

Hy, i see in the Isle of Skye article the Gallery section, can you talk to me what for pics you want and i hope i can puted in your great article.--Doneve 20:47, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Doneve - Look what was done with the Protectorate of Donegal. I'd like the same map for the Federation from the Handbook House Steiner. ClanWolverine101 21:19, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
The first map is uploaded.--Doneve 22:03, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
I hope you like the uploaded Federation of Skye Maps :).--Doneve 00:34, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Yes, thank you! ClanWolverine101 00:40, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Hi guys, i'm sorry bother you guys, but please make sure these edited/modified canon maps have all the info including the artist info. Øystein Tvedten made all the modern maps in the sourcebooks from Handbooks up to now (2011). Also, though (I'm not administrator), i think these uploaded pictures need to be noted as being modified, regardless. I don't believe they classify as being fandom (i've edited picture i've recently uploaded without adding anything new-original), but please make sure note the changes so a fan/reader will know this not quite the original image. I've added notes of their modifications to the two Isle of the Skye/Federation of Skye maps that were uploaded to Sarna.net. Take care -- Wrangler 04:03, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Understood. Doneve is the expert on images. ClanWolverine101 04:39, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Dexter Kingsley[edit]

New article up - Dexter Kingsley. A minor character, but he kept popping up in my other articles, so I ran with it. Frankly, I wanted to do a small, short, but thoroughly-researched article, in contrast to the Federation of Skye article. ClanWolverine101 04:40, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Chakater article => list[edit]

Hey, thanks for your message. Let explain my work. I understood your opinions, but can you explain me while many articles with less content are treated different. Many of the subunits to the different factions contain less content and are widely accepted. That will be a mystery to me. 2 more points: 1. I recognize that many of my article had envolved through me or other user. That is my goal. 2. Often I split my work in several stages. First load initial content, Second rework it and Third make a final version. What was helpful in my opinion is to create for several categories list like small mercenary command for charakters and small house units. What do yoz think about it?Neuling 06:01, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

I understand your point about sub-units and conventional units. Yes, the info on these is usually brief. I have consistently advocated that such entries be handled differently - not as their own articles, but as subsections of articles for mech units they are attached to. I have proposed this and been rebuffed. That's fair. I don't like it, but I accept that the community seems to accept it. So you see, my position here is consistent. I feel bio articles should be more solid than this.
I accept your explanation that you hope to have these stub articles expanded upon. My counter to that is that many (if not most) of these characters have no other published material. It is virtually impossible to significantly expand these articles. In my mind, we are better off dealing with them differently - like giving them a sub-section in another article - then putting them up as an article this short. That is just my feeling. I don't know how many in the community agree, but the option of using a sub-stub banner is available to me, so I have considered using it where appropriate. I intend to do so until such time as the community finds its own position on these matters.
Does this make more sense? ClanWolverine101 15:37, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
I think when we make a site create for minor character it will allow the community to see them at one place and it will be easier to maintance. Let me try something and lets us see what will happen? Neuling 17:36, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Tara Lucas[edit]

Таrа Lucas is up. She's part of a personal policy of mine is to eventually write articles on anything I "red-link" in an earlier article. I think I managed to get a lot of material on a minor character, and since the Dragoons are one of my "things", I enjoyed writing it. ClanWolverine101 03:36, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Opinion[edit]

Hey, I have reworked some of my article which are tables includes, please what is your opinion about it and what can I change? Neuling 14:50, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Give me a few examples? ClanWolverine101 15:01, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

An Idea...[edit]

Its me again, please take a look at luthien amor works and give me opinion about the look. I can modify all manufacturer sites like this with easy, but before I do such drastical changes I ask you as longtime member with hugh expierence fo advice.Neuling 17:47, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

... I like it, but I would run it by Rev and others, too. ClanWolverine101 18:25, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
  • Jump in, i like the table style in the manufacturing centers category, the manufacturer pages become some structure.--Doneve 19:44, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
  • I like it too. Its cleaner. I wouldn't use the 'Planet' header, though. Its unnecessary, unless you mean to use 'Orbit' or 'Moon' to highlight differences. Also, can you please use wikilinks when you want us to review something you've worked on? Its polite and makes it easier for others to help you out, for the cost of only four characters
    ([[ & ]]).--Revanche (talk|contribs) 19:48, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
OOoooo, pretty! --Scaletail 20:06, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
Oh, I agree. I especially like Neuling's use of tables for Operation Bulldog, and I think we should use them for all the major conflicts. ClanWolverine101 21:30, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

References[edit]

Evening, CW101: I thought I'd share this example with you regarding references, since -like me- you do a lot of corrective edits to references. In this case, we have the source title in italics, comma, page number, comma, source article title in "quotations". The source article title is copied exactly as it is used in the source material. If notes by the member are added to the reference, we put in a colon (:) and then the note. No periods (.) are used to finish it off. Does that make sense?--Revanche (talk|contribs) 22:02, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Understood. I usually just go with the source and page number. The "source article title" isn't always clear, and I find the notes to be unwieldy, but that's just me. Was there a specific problem with an article or edit? ClanWolverine101 22:18, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
No problem at all! I just know you do a lot of revision editing, and I thought if three of us (counting Doneve) were doing the same thing, it would help promulgate thru the project. I agree with you about the source title; if its unclear, it sould remain untitled. References work in a 'cascade: the placement of the reference segment decreases in importance: source title is obviously critical, page number is important, 'source article title' (for lack of a better name) is not at all important, but when available helps narrow down the location of the data and the notes are purely optional.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 22:33, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Formating[edit]

Its me again, tnx for your kind words. Pleas take a look at {New Avalon} and give me your opinion about it and what can be chaged. Neuling 07:26, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

I like your use of tables on most of it - it really improves the article. On Owner History, I preferred the old style, but you should get the opinions of others as well. ClanWolverine101 17:05, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
I really like the tables for 'Nearby Planets', hesitant at first about 'Garrisoning Military Force' but decide I do prefer it to the original and am ambivalent about 'Owner History'.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 17:38, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Agreed - I'm also thinking some tables are not right for 'align center' text. ClanWolverine101 17:41, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Lets try it, I will change some of the text to the right. Neuling 17:43, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
I like the tables to, really good work.--Doneve 17:45, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

CCAF + Ghostbear[edit]

Hey, I changed some formating of the CCAF site and please give me your opinion about the Ghost Bear touman site. Neuling 18:02, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Responded on your talk page. ClanWolverine101 23:40, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Smoke Jaguar References[edit]

Hey, its me agian. I have a new project about the smoke jaguar touman. Some information like camospecs are only available on camospecs.com and other informations are from german novels like the tau galaxy which battle the nova cats and the northwind highlanders. Can you give me an advice.Neuling 18:06, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Neuling - This wiki treats a lot of the German materials as non-canon; I would include only what you can find from the American products. Thanks. ClanWolverine101 19:11, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
Take a look at the smoke jaguar touman. You can see that I only but english resources in the biblography. My question was about the site camospecs.com Neuling 19:27, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
I like that.
Regarding your use of tables, why did you decide to just show the Periphery forces? ClanWolverine101 20:16, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
I collecting all available sources and will build around the few information a good article. I'm unsure how I could integrate the Tau Galaxy and the 2 Galaxies from Huntress into the entire article. The same with warships. Smoke Jaguar have estimate 27 Warships, but I don't know which are count twice or which are single. Neuling 20:53, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
Understood - I would start over with a plan to incorporate everything. Question: What is your source for 27 SJ Warships? That seems high. ClanWolverine101 21:43, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
27 are all warships look at the the references and you wolud know what I mean.Neuling 14:58, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
I have include all available forces but are unsure how I could make a good article from that. Please can you help me?Neuling 14:58, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
I have begun copyediting, most notably to the Bibliography. Tell me - why do you have that Table above the TOC? ClanWolverine101 15:12, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Biography & TOE[edit]

Okay, have you a solution to put the minor put important characters in some way such as a overvies divided after Faction or time period? And my questions is about my TO&E work. Please take a look at the LCAF Military Assets give me a response about it. Neuling 16:19, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

I agree that this material should be re-formatted and made a subsection of the LCAF article.
Neuling - You're finding a lot of material you want to throw up here on the wiki. That is perfectly understandable. But it is important to do so in a way that (according to consensus) adds to the wiki. To me, writing a quality article is much better than writing 20 sub-standard ones. I would strongly suggest starting conversations on the appropriate Talk pages to discuss the major changes you have in mind.
As for which characters are bio worthy and how to present them, feel free to post to the appropriate bio pages. But when I see articles that will likely never be anything more than a single sentence, it bothers me because it adds nothing to the quality of the wiki.
I hope this is helpful, and we can find a way to compromise. ClanWolverine101 16:32, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
I agree with you to discuss the issue with the characters. And about the Assets. Okay will could integrate the existing material with the LCAF/LAAF article but I disagree with Scailetail about to delete most of my work, because the information are from various sources. Every army/military organisation have some shared features and many unique an infantry regiment in the ccaf have 805 trooper, in the fwl 1064 troopers and affs 774 to 1032 troopers in comparition. The structure and equipment give every faction a unique look.Neuling 16:46, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm not saying the work needs to be deleted - I am thinking it should be more carefully referenced and incorporated into an existing article. Try this : Rather than write up the TOEs of the other militaries, focus on constructively incorporating your LCAF work into the LCAF article. I understand where Scaletail is coming from - by itself, the material on your TOEs adds very little to this wiki. It needs context, references, and cleanup. Once you've shown you can do that with the LCAF, you'll gain support for your approach. ClanWolverine101 16:55, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
3 points to anwser
Context: I will incoporate the information into a text which cover the wider range from development and tactical changes. Also my thougths and conclusion will also find their place.
References: I provide all information with the exact page number and sources.
Cleanup: My work is a work in progress, which means the article needs time to get the right shape. Sometimes my thoughts change and I think different about an ealier work.
Conclutions and own soughts are not part of the integral lcaf article. I will handle this like an essay.Neuling 17:05, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Regarding references - I didn't mean to offend you. I'm just suggesting the style needs work to be consistent with the rest of the sight. Example: References (though not page numbers) should be italicized. ClanWolverine101 01:19, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Morasha Kelswa[edit]

Morasha Kelswa is up. As I've said, I sometimes choose articles simply because I have "red-linked" them on previous articles. ClanWolverine101 02:08, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

15th Lyran Regulars[edit]

15th Lyran Regulars are up. I think I did a nice job with this one, despite some redlinks (on my to-do list!) and no info on the Jihad - they aren't mentioned in any Hot Spot book. ClanWolverine101 05:06, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

I have update both pf ypur articles with the correspondent unit insignia. Should Doneve find a better version he can replaced it. Neuling 06:55, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Category:Wolf's Dragoons Commands[edit]

Wolf's Dragoons Commands is up. Doing unit articles on the Dragoon units is high on my to-do list. ClanWolverine101 04:00, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

Hey clanwolverine101, I read your are writing about the individual combat units. I wrote an overview with all battles Wolf Dragoons Battle from the beginning until the clan invasion. I will put the missiing references online in the next week. When you need further material I will support your work. Neuling 05:52, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
Interesting. Thank you! ClanWolverine101 21:09, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

10th Lyran Regulars[edit]

10th Lyran Regulars are up. I did okay, though I admit to "cheating" a little bit, using material I had already written for other articles ( 7th Lyran Regulars ) for the FCCW section. Nevertheless, glad to knock this out. ClanWolverine101 05:11, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

Raven Alliance[edit]

When I referenced the Outworlds Alliance being Omniss it was no more a suggestion that every man woman and child in the Alliance is Omniss, than saying that Clan Snow Raven was Machiavellian would say the same for them. Both are stereotypes and generalisations, reputation, not factual. There are plenty of Ravens who are politically inept and altruistic, just like there are Alliance citizens who pilot AeroSpace Fighters and use revolutionary technologies like the phone. Guardsman 10:39, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

I understand that. Calling the Ravens "machiavellian" as a whole is a fair and supported statement. However, everything I've read indicates Omniss is a very minor religion within the OA. Perhaps you are referring to anti-technology sentiment within the OA? If so, that is certainly appropriate. I just don't think Omniss is the best word for it. Do you have better sources? ClanWolverine101 15:23, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

Tamarind March[edit]

Tamarind March is up. Oh, it was short-lived.... ClanWolverine101 06:48, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Zeta Battalion[edit]

Zeta Battalion is finally up. I put a lot of work into it, as it was certainly more challenging than the Lyran Regulars! A lot of redlinks, which are now, naturally, added to my to-do list. ClanWolverine101 05:27, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Operation Broken Fist[edit]

Hey, ClanWolverine please take a look at Operation Broken Fist and give me a short response. Tnx Neuling 20:14, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Its actually not bad. I would suggest adding material from the Jihad Hot Spots books, and possibly using those tables you had. ClanWolverine101 00:58, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
There are some factual issues I would raise. The League wound up taking quite a few worlds from the Lyrans, although its indicated in your article that the border returned to its pre-war line. So - I would address that. ClanWolverine101 02:10, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Wolf's Dragoons[edit]

Hey, I have completed my reference work for te article that you ask for. In the next step I will include the following battles. I hope it help your work about the Dragoon articles. I think it is also possible for me to write a series of tables for all famous units like Kell Hounds, Northwind Highlanders, MacCarrons Armored Cavalry, Fighting Urukhai, Illician Lancers, Eridani Light Horse, Blue Star Irregulars, 12th Vegan Rangers, Dismal Disinharted, 12th Star Guards and so on. What is your opinion about it... Neuling 16:40, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

An ambitious plan. I think it will be harder for some than others. The Dragoons, for example, have their own sourcebook and are well referenced elsewhere. The 12th Vegan Rangers are large and distinguished, but far less covered. ClanWolverine101 18:40, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Operation Concentrated Weakness[edit]

Operation Concentrated Weakness is up. ClanWolverine101 03:33, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Kathleen Palmer[edit]

Kathleen Palmer is up. Yes, I love Heir to the Dragon characters. BUT - it also removes a number of "red links" for us. ClanWolverine101 04:15, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

I was quite surprised by a number of statements in that article. When I have time I shall check the references and see if the article requires corrections or if I am simply remembering things wrong. Luckily, you do provide references so this should be easy to work out. Kudos! Frabby 09:25, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
I love taking minor, "unimportant" characters, and writing far more than people thought possible. :) ClanWolverine101 14:28, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

DCMS overview[edit]

Hey, clanwolverine, I had finished the example for an forces overview in th different time periods. Please give me a short response hat you think about it and if the content is within the wiki standards or must I do some modification... Tnx. Neuling 05:49, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Clan Equipment[edit]

Hello clanwolverine, I analyzed that most of the equipment pages does'nt contain many clan equipment. At the moment I gather the material to post it put how can we show it that from the clan. Also another question in this direction, I have access to the milspecs files put I does'nt knoww how to create a serious reference to this information source.Neuling 20:49, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Neuling - Could you please give me an example? ClanWolverine101 03:32, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

for an example:

YMN-10-OR YEOMAN
Mass: 60 tons
Chassis: Curtiss Yeoman
Power Plant: Pitban 240 Light
Cruising Speed: 43 kph
Maximum Speed: 65 kph
Jump Jets: Lexington Lifters
Jump Capacity: 120 meters
Armor: Kallon FWL
Armament: 2 Zeus LRM 10
4 Doombud MML 5
Communications System: CurtissComm Mk IV
Targeting & Tracking System: Dynatec MissileTrac X
ref:[[1]]
Neuling 05:34, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
In my opinion, this doesn't add anything of value to the wiki... ClanWolverine101 15:05, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
I see that my topic was good explained. I will gather all missing equipment from various sources and put them and the right equipment pages and consider the battlecorps ref as legan canon with the correspondig designs. Further I will add the clan models as an different entry in the article. I will beginn with the 3060 desings. Neuling 16:48, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Questions to ClanWolverine101[edit]

I thought I was the only one that liked the Clan Wolverine... I have written about the lost clan... here... and here. Shockeray 17:15, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

I see. I have little interest in fan fiction, but thanks. ClanWolverine101 17:16, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Why not? I based it off of a lot of real stuff. Check out my user. Shockeray 17:19, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Like many other editors, I don't feel the wiki is the place for fan fiction. This is not to say we shouldn't make our own units for our own games - who doesn't? - just that this isn't the place for them. ClanWolverine101 18:17, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

BTW got any idea how to get awards on your user page? -- Shockeray 17:25, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

You edit the page and add them after you earn them. ClanWolverine101 18:17, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Hello Wolverine, I have a problem to find a site which I had created. It was an overview of the academies and their courses. But I can find it not any more. Please help me. Tnx Neuling 09:57, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Take a look on this Academy - overview.--Doneve 11:45, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Essays[edit]

Hello my friend, I have a question to you about articles from the Classicbattletech.forum. I had the idea to post the good written articles about the organization of armors or about special designs in a seperate category like essays or useful thoughts. Please give me a response. And for the Periphery March which map are you need, from the 3039 or 3050. Tnx Neuling 19:43, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Neuling - I understand your idea, but it is my personal belief that essays should only be posted by their creators. Rev and the others may feel differently, though.
Regarding Periphery March, I was considering the map from Historical: War of 3039. Look at what Doneve did for my Federation of Skye article. ClanWolverine101 22:03, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Owner History[edit]

Hy, please can you add a ref. note to your contributions in the OH section, thanks.--Doneve 23:05, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Wolf's Dragoons battles[edit]

Hy again, i take a look on the page, and i think, we can move some content to various pages, add hook planet pages, unit pages, etc., have you any ideas, thanks.--Doneve 00:16, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Agreed, but I'm looking at it as a case-by-case basis thing. As that article is merely a resource rather than a specific item, the changes I've made have been superficial. ClanWolverine101 00:19, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Ok i stard data mining, and i hope we can bring it up to flow, if you have any ideas etc, talke to me, and when i have some ideas etc. i talk to you.--Doneve 00:23, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Kelly Yukinov[edit]

Kelly Yukinov is up. This poor guy was often Robin to Jaime Wolf's Batman. He was always getting injured, but did the dirty day-to-day work. ClanWolverine101 04:15, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Taurian Concordat Update[edit]

IT IS DONE!! All rulers, regents, assorted persons and events of significance to the Taurian Concordat (prior to 3060) have been named, paged and referenced! WHEW that took longer that I thought it would but real life jumped up in the way. If you or one of the other admins could give this long labor of faction love a once (or heck twice!) over to make sure it meets this Wiki's standards I would be most grateful.Deeppockets 23:00, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

1st Falcon Swoop (Clan Jade Falcon)[edit]

1st Falcon Swoop (Clan Jade Falcon) is up. Not one of my best works, but information is spare on these guys. ClanWolverine101 02:33, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Force Specific Rules[edit]

Howdy, ClanWolverine101, i noticed you noted for update for Force Specific Rules. My time online working on Sarna.net has been severly cut due to irl issues. Is there remote chance that you or someone you could recommend update the article? Force Specific Rules as name isn't quite in use anymore (to my dispair due to easy remember name for it.) to some thing else in Tactical Operations and needs a big revamp. Older sourcebooks do use name Force Specific Rules name or variant of it. Is possible to update it change it reflect the modern rule book. -- Wrangler 00:04, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Not entirely sure. I actually only put that there because I am writing an article on a unit, and that article included Force Specific Rules from multiple books. I've never been a huge fan of FSR, but I'll look into it. ClanWolverine101 00:41, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Alpha Regiment[edit]

Alpha Regiment (Wolf's Dragoons) is up. I put quite a bit of work into this one, so I am certainly looking for feedback. ClanWolverine101 03:40, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Alpha Regiment (Wolf's Dragoons)[edit]

Of all those naysayers on CBT forums talking about how un-sourced Sarna is today, I wish they spent time enough here to see what /one/ person can do, such as with Alpha Regiment (Wolf's Dragoons). Beautiful work, CW...simply inspiring. I'm gonna ask you to stop requesting my reviews, and flip roles with you.

Superior Article Award

I'm gonna raise the standards for this award, so it'll be harder for you to receive them.
Question: why the Blue Water Combat Vehicles category? Perchance, did you make a mistake?--Revanche (talk|contribs) 03:43, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Rev- Thanks so much! I'm blushing!
Regarding the Blue Water link, when I was writing it, it occurred to me that units of that type should have an article written about them like everything else. I couldn't find one, but I did find the "Category" page, so I used that in a pinch. Maybe I should write a "Blue Navy" article now... :P ClanWolverine101 03:54, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
Wow, great article, i like it so much, i see Rev give you the right award, keep up your good work, greetings.--Doneve 17:02, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! And thanks so much for the insignia! ClanWolverine101 18:16, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Leonidas Brannock[edit]

Leonidas Brannock is up. Granted, this is an odd way of approaching the Glengarry campaign, but I wanted to start with a specific character that I had some biographical info for. Overall, it could be a better article... I never read Tactics of Duty, so that is probably a factor. ClanWolverine101 04:30, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

  • Happened in Blood of Heroes and looks like it has those sources. Nice job on that article. Deserves a 6th All Purpose All Purpose Award, 6th ribbon

Thanks! Turns out, Tactics of Duty just deals with the aftermath of the battle. So no issue there. ClanWolverine101 12:15, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Opinion[edit]

Hello ClanWolverine101, please take alook at my latest article about the war of reaving time line and give me your opinion about it please. Wars_of_Reaving_-_TimelineNeuling 20:04, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Good concept ~ I would suggest adding links to the planet articles, etc. ClanWolverine101 21:31, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
Jump on the ship, ok good idea but i think a lot of the content must become a right format, and can moved to their own, unit, planet and clan articles, this is my opinion.--Doneve 21:34, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
The problem is that the developments of the events happen sometimes simultaniles. And the decision have multiple results. I suggest when we can extract the time line as text form for every Clan it would be easier to understand what happen in detail. I think my articel gives an overview about the main events. And by the way how can we wrote articels about the virus or similar topics?Neuling 22:26, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
I provide you CW great Alpha Regiment (Wolf's Dragoons) or Isle of Skye example, i know there is a lot of work of data mining, and a great view how we use references on the wiki (thanks CW), sorry but you don't use the reference policy of the wiki in the past, this was one of the steps to bring articles to one wiki standard, you don't use on many of your articles links, tag pipe repoints etc, i don't want to critise you, but in the greater scheme, all content of your Wars of Reaving Timeline can formated in all named (but not tagged) unit, planet, etc. articles, but it's a lot of work, sourcing, datamining, and follow the wikiproject policies that the pages fall, this is why we tag some pages with the right project template, i hope my writing was not to rough, you do good work on sarne.--Doneve 22:54, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Spam[edit]

Your efforts to help kill spammers are appreciated. Jumping on them as fast as you do is great. The problem is that when you remove the content, we [the admins] have to dig around to find out why you blanked the content.
To mark a page as spam so we can delete it, all you have to do is put {{deletion|Spam}} at the top of the page (above everything else). We'll see it and delete the page. Thanks!--Revanche (talk|contribs) 20:09, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, man. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 20:30, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Good Article Award[edit]

I grant you the Good Article Award, 2nd ribbon for the creation of Connor Gilderoy, a minor character I had never heard of (or recalled, anyway) but found to have an interesting and full article on the site.

Good Article Award, 2nd ribbon

Keep writing these types of articles. I think they add a lot of flavor to the project. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 20:37, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Heh - Thanks! He *IS* pretty minor. I wrote it because in my mind, Sarna should (eventually) not have any "red links". Since I wrote an article that included Gilderoy and linked him, I felt obligated to write him up. (I actually wish i could have found more material.) ClanWolverine101 21:13, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Image upload[edit]

Hi CW, I saw you uploaded two images (well, one image twice) but gave the source as "unknown". Given the potential can of worms that images are legally, we absolutely need to have a source stated for the image file - unknown won't do because you have to have it from somewhere. (And yes, most older image files don't state their origin - this is a problem in and of itself. New uploads should heed the policy.) Frabby 13:41, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Shoot. What would you suggest? ClanWolverine101 17:18, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth[edit]

I was reflecting on my work on Sarna up to this point and asking myself : What would impress them at this point?
So - I redid the Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth.
I chose this one for several reasons : First, sentiment. I started following BTech with the Clan Invasion. Blood of Kerensky. TRO3050. To me, the FedCom was an appealing faction. They were the quintessential "good guys". The ones who might have a shot to stop the Clans if they got their acts together, as they did on Twycross. I NEVER liked the idea of the Lyran Alliance, or of an AFFC reduced back to House Davion. Second, none of the existing articles (AFFS/AFFC) reflected the actual UNITED AFFC. In my mind, that military had its own identity, if only temporarily. I feel, in fact, that identity is easier to pin down. Our articles on, say, the DCMS should reflect literally hundreds of years of history. A unit that was killed of centuries ago should be listed alongside one that was just formed in the latest publications. Since the AFFC had a beginning, middle and end, it was a story that could be told in its entirety.
Third, the greatest compliment Rev (or anyone) paid me for my Alpha Regiment article was that it set a standard for unit articles. I wanted to do the same for an entire military. The format I used is my submission for that new standard. I realize such things require discussion, and I don't want to step on anyone's toes. So I did this, to show what such an article COULD look like.
Fourth, I wanted to prove to myself that I could do this. I had a very clear idea of what a comprehensive AFFC article would look like. I feel I've met that, and applied the standards I set for myself.
So - that's all I have. Give it a look and tell me what you think. Thanks. ClanWolverine101 18:08, 26 December 2011 (PST)

As usual, special thanks go to Doneve, for his help on graphics work. As for the written material, it obviously isn't all my own, though I rewrote much of the material I borrowed. ClanWolverine101 18:14, 26 December 2011 (PST)
BAM BAM, great work, iam not finished with fact checking but i can say WOW you invest a lot of time for datamining and bring the references to a high level.--Doneve 08:59, 27 December 2011 (PST)
Thanks! ClanWolverine101 09:04, 27 December 2011 (PST)

Mercaneries employment[edit]

I had the idea to show the different employements of the mercaneries by the states. For example in 3025 the DCMS employed many Veteran merc commands but in the next 30 years no major command saw work for the Dragon. But I lacking any idea to put it in a hole picture? Perhaps you have some good ideas. Neuling 12:21, 27 December 2011 (PST)

Sure. Start with the deployment tables of 3025 vs. the 20 Year Update, make a list, and go from there. ClanWolverine101 13:06, 27 December 2011 (PST)
I read this idea, i want to say the info can added in the proper mercenary articles if there is no, created a new by all infos you can found on sources, it takes a lot more work, but i think it works very well.--Doneve 13:15, 27 December 2011 (PST)
And what about the user how will have an overview about specific eras? It will a huge amount of search to find the individuel commands. I had more at mind an overview for example Draconis Combine in the eras: 3025 - 3050 - 3052 - 3059 - 3067 - 3079. Neuling 13:49, 27 December 2011 (PST)
And i say all info can added at his own mercenary article add the year and empolyment info to the proper article, and then to the year page, take a look to my contributions what i do with 'mech variant introduction dates, i add i to the main article with reference and then to the year page.--Doneve 13:52, 27 December 2011 (PST)

Changes[edit]

Hello Clan Woverine, I wil awnser your question. By my latest work I thought several times about it how I could change outley from my articles and meet overall accepted formating styles by sarna.net. With the new structure you can jump directly to the planets where the fight tooks places. Another Reason was the formating made it easer for me to add content to the planets. All my articles about campaigns are changed that way and give them an overall better look in my opinion. I also get notice that some of my works are uncompleted and need further improvement. When I had finished the rework the campaign is linked to every involved unit to the planet and back to the campaign. With that goal it is unnecessary where you are you can jump to every coressponding information when needed. I hope I helps you to understand the changes.

with best regards Neuling 06:03, 7 January 2012 (PST)

I respect your point about the "jump" links. However, as far as formatting goes, I frankly think we are still in flux on many issues. ClanWolverine101 06:13, 7 January 2012 (PST)
