History[edit]

Post-Invasion[edit]

In June 3052, the Viper Fusiliers and the 126th Striker Cluster invaded Goat Path. This was part of a larger operation which also involved elements of Alpha Galaxy attacking Blackjack simultaneously. The operation was believed to have been ordered in retaliation for Jade Falcon raids on Steel Viper merchant traffic.[1] Here the Fusiliers and Strikers defeated the Second Falcon Jaegers and Fifth Battle Clusters.[1] The Fusiliers were than posted to Goat Path as its garrison.[2]

In April 3055, the Fusiliers attacked Bensinger. An off-target landing meant that the Fusiliers landed within weapons range of the defending Jade Falcon 305th Assault Cluster. This resulted in almost twenty-five percent fatalities among the Fusiliers in the first few minutes of battle.[3]

The Steel Viper Cluster rallied and after this initial setback and exploited a gap in their opponents' lines to get in so close that the 305th had to check their fire for fear of hitting their comrades.[3]

In 3060, the Fusiliers were stationed on Goat Path when it was raided by Warrior House Ijori of the Capellan Confederation.[4] After two weeks of fighting, the Warrior House lifted off. Both the Fusiliers and the Warrior House sustained serious losses.[5]

Ejection from the Inner Sphere[edit]

After being removed from the Inner Sphere, the Viper Fusiliers and the rest of Beta Galaxy served as the main force that ejected Clan Snow Raven from Homer.[6] After that triumph, they were stationed on Marshall and were still there as of 3067.[7]

In 3069, the Falcon's Second Velites issued a batchall for the Viper holdings on Marshall, bidding their entire force. Galaxy Commander Zalman bid the Viper Fusiliers in response. The Fusiliers were outnumbered and the battle was fierce. Star Colonel Allen Dumont killed Star Colonel Dien of the Falcons. After this, the Falcons broke their bid and called in artillery strikes that decimated the Fusiliers, leaving less than a Binary to claim hegira and retreat from the planet.[8]
