A Bonfire of Worlds, by Steven Mohan Jr., is the first MechWarrior: Dark Age novel to be published by Catalyst Game Labs. Originally set for release in November 2008, it has repeatedly been rescheduled and has not appeared in print so far.

Before it appeared in print, the entire novel was released as a 15-parts serial on BattleCorps starting 15 March 2009, with subsequent parts published at a rate of two per month. The final part was published on 15 October 2009 and then again on 1 November, presumably due to an oversight.

A Kindle format e-book edition was published on April 30, 2010. It was not until 2019 than the book was finally printed-on-demand. The front page shows Alaric Wolf Mad Cat IV during the battle of New Olympia in front of a burning forest.
