The Ancha system is the location of an inhabited world, Ancha I, and as at 3145 was located in the Al Na'ir Prefecture of the Dieron Military District within the Draconis Combine.[2][3]

System Description

The Ancha system is located near the Biham and Sadachbia systems[2][3] and has a class G3VI primary orbited by a single world.[1]

System History

The Ancha system was settled at some point prior to the end of the Reunification War.[4]

Ancha I

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Ancha I - more commonly known simply as Ancha - is the only planet in the Ancha system, and has a single moon named Bromi.[1]

Planetary History

Early History

The planet Ancha is best known for the fate of the first wave of colonists. After landing the entire group became infected with a virus that eluded the surveyor's equipment. Since they had dismantled their transports to provide planetary infrastructure the colonists were trapped on the world. This virus either killed everyone in the first wave of settlers swiftly, or left the survivors frail and sterile.[1]

For the next two decades, Ancha was untouched by humans. The terrible fate of the first colonists was only discovered after the arrival of the second wave of settlers. Though they were also infected by the virus, the notes and information gathered by the first colonists allowed doctors in the second wave to find a vaccine against the virus. Visitors to the world still receive this immunization both before they arrive on world and during their stay.[1]

Star League

During the final years of the Star League, Ancha was the host to a Star League Defense Force garrison.[5]

War of 3039

In the War of 3039 the Fighting Urukhai's DeMasetri's Sluggers regiment landed on the world. They immediately engaged the defending Shin Legion, distracting the unit long enough for the Sixth FedCom RCT to engage the Legion from the rear and flanks. A desperate assault by Legion conventional assets allowed some of the Legion 'Mechs to escape but they were unable to mount effective resistance. They would engage in resistance efforts for the next six months.[6] The Eighteenth Dieron Regulars arrived shortly thereafter, and after inflicting (and suffering) heavy losses, the Federated Commonwealth units withdrew from Ancha.[7]

The Dark Age

During the Dark Age Ancha was known for its numerous civilian aircraft and automotive manufacturing industries. The colonies of the first settlers - sometimes referred to as the "lost" colonies - were still maintained by the population of Ancha; located on the southern continent of Gastigone, these ancient colonies are considered historical sites and an important reminder of those who came before.
