System Information
X:Y Coordinates165.999 : -469.811[e]

The Artru system was the location of at least one habitable world or construct and as at 2767 was located in the Brinton Union of the Taurian Concordat.[1]

System Description

The Artru system is located near the Argos[2] and Katinka systems.[3]

System History

The Artru system was either colonised during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War or was an already-inhabited system that became significant enough to be recorded on maps by Inner Sphere nations during this period.[3][4] Artru vanished from maps at some point during the Third Succession War,[5][6][7][8][9][10][11] indicating that it had either been abandoned, depopulated or rendered too insignificant to merit further recording.

Artru is a cold inhospitable world that would be of no value if not for the extensive industrial mining concerns. The planet is a major travel link to Hellespont. It is home to the ruins of a Star League Defense Forces Outpost Castle, known as Castle Nautilus. The Castle had a large armory full of LosTech, including an Atlas II. Artru has two moons, and is orbited by a few hab stations. One of those stations, Nassau Heights, was the birthplace of Darius Oliveira. Most of the mining is done in rocky outcrops found in the equator of the planet, home to large amounts of platinum, ruthenium, and other exotic minerals. The people of Artru had a tale about a foul wind they called "the Locura". The Locura would flow through the world's wastes, messing with the systems of the miners' ships and destroying them.[50]

In 3025, a mercenary Lance led by Lady Kamea Arano found Castle Nautilus thanks to the SLDF maps in the Argo's secondary storage. Shortly after the Argo entered orbit, the Taurian DropShip Iberia took off the second moon of the planet. When the Lance landed near the Castle, the ship's engineer, Farah Murad, tried to open the Outpost Castle's gates by hacking its Memory Core with her Advanced Electronic Codebreaker. She accidentally activated the Castle's defense systems and found an ancient electronic virus that ravaged the Argo's systems. After dealing with the virus and the defenses, Kamea entered the SLDF base, finding a large amount of SLDF Royal BattleMechs, including an Atlas II. Shortly after that, the Iberia landed on the planet and attacked the Restoration forces. Kamea, alongside a group of 3 MechWarriors who came from one of the Karosas-owned Leopards she brought with her were forced to fight their way out of Artru. After their escape ship was destroyed by the Iberia's arsenal, Kamea's group was forced to get on the Argo's own Leopard, which they used to escape the planet and the remaining Taurian forces. Shortly after leaving the Castle, the Argo's chief MechTech, Yang Virtanen detonated several thousand tons of high-explosives inside the place, destroying the Outpost Castle and its riches to keep them away from the Taurians' hands.[citation needed]
