Colonel Taylor, serving with the First Donegal Jaegers, was stationed on Donegal in 3085.[1] A former aerospace pilot who became a MechWarrior in order to advance through the ranks, Taylor was an adequate soldier but a superb strategist. His ability to see the battlefield from his unique point of view and his efforts to drill the First Jaegers hard bolstered the unit to a level of competence the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces didn't expect to see for years. While Taylor credited this to the assistance of the Seventh Donegal Guards, the veteran unit believed the credit belonged to Taylor.[2]
