The Bellatrix system was the location of at least one habitable world and as at 3145 was located in the Victoria Commonality of the Capellan Confederation.[1][2]

System Description

The Bellatrix system is located close to the Krakatau and Kurvasa systems.[3]

System History

The Bellatrix system was colonised during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra.[4]

Star League

By 2616 the world of Bellatrix had been captured by the Free Worlds League; assigned to capture Bellatrix back were Stirling's Fusiliers, one of the regiments that made up the Northwind Highlanders. Despite being outnumbered three to one by the defending Ajax's Avengers, the Fusiliers struck using a combination of ferocity and superior tactics that saw the Avengers smashed and routed. The Avengers fled eastwards across the southern continent, only to find that they couldn't shake off the pursuing Fusiliers, and when forced to stand and fight by poor weather the Avengers were quickly wiped out.[5]

Prior to the Fall of the Star League, Bellatrix was the headquarters of the Star League Defense Forces LXIII Corps (Star League) and the 231st BattleMech Division. Tensions between the SLDF personnel and the planetary residents were strained, but non-violent.[6]
