System Information
X:Y Coordinates-370.409 : 21.414[e]

The Binyang system was the location of at least one habitable world or construct and as at 3145 was located in the Buena Province of the Lyran Commonwealth.[1][2]

System Description

The Binyang system is located close to the Inchicore and Valloire systems.[1][2]

System History

The Binyang system was colonised at some point during the Star League era after the end of the Reunification War by the Free Worlds League.[3][4]

Planetary History

First Succession War

The Lyran Commonwealth invaded Binyang in 2793; the invasion was led by Kommandant-General Aric Hasseldorf, who led two regiments on the assault from her headquarters aboard the DropShip Vidar Eisenboot. The defending Thirteenth Bolan Defenders were outnumbered, despite having the advantage of extensive familiarity with the terrain of Binyang. Hasseldorf was keen to avoid the Bolan Defenders launching a scorched-earth defense similar to that used on Bolan and other worlds within the region known as the Bolan Thumb, and launched a conventional invasion. Hasseldorf used one of her two regiments to identify the location of the Thirteenth's forces, swiftly identifying that the Thirteenth's Second Battalion was located at Kinwall, and that the First Battalion was most likely defending the planetary primary spaceports at Hanning. When elements of the Lyran forces encountered vehicles and 'Mechs from the Thirteenth's Third Battalion in and around the Litang Valley, she swiftly had her aerospace fighters destroy the Third's artillery firebase and command center at the village of Silong, even as her ground forces were engaging elements of the third at locations such Hasong. Confirmation that the bulk of the Third Battalion were within the Litang Valley allowed Hasseldorf to drop her second 'Mech regiment directly on Hanning.[5]

Binyang was one of a number of worlds conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth as part of a two-pronged invasion of the Free Worlds League that threatened to capture the important industrial world of Acrux. Captain-General Thaddeus Marik attempted to launch a campaign in 2811 aimed at retaking Valloire, along with a number of other captured worlds including Danxian, Radostov and Valloire, but his campaign failed almost at the outset when his forces failed to defeat the crack Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces regiment known as The Stealths at Poulsbo, taking numerous losses in the process and ultimately causing the campaign to be called off.[6]
